I think this might be the only open source project to consider KS to date and as such might just get some attention for doing so ( in a good way hopefully) i think KS backers will be happy with a weekly newsletter to keep them up to date its a donation scheme esentially through kickstarter with rewards enough to satisify their requirements.  A weekly newsletter of sorts or blog from the guy getting paid to be a programmer for hire might be a good idea to, might just enoucrage more contributions to.

Id like to see more plants in the wild, the ability to "grow" youre own food perhaps as well or at least to harvest and spread seed perhaps.  Perhaps within the confines of a bunker ( of course if u happen t live that long) seeds might be harvestable only from wild plants allowing u to grow a limited amount of food but still forcing u outside to get more once youre plants have grown

I'd LOVE to see an option for a well educated character to start a hydroponics garden, but I'm not certain the timeframes most people play in would be conducive to realistic crop growth times...

A season is 14 days by default though you can change it in the options

So it seems I accidentally put my canteen in my wheelbarrow and didn't notice... and then I got really thirsty... so right before going to sleep I go to take a swig from my canteen and... end up snorting a line of low-grade meth.

ok now for example some things like carrots can grow in 2/3 of a season ie 60 days so ingame that might be 2/3 of a season which would be 8 to 9 days, and yeah its possible to live ingame for 30 days or more ( if u get a lucky start and play it very careful)

Also to really get a decent farm going you probably have to be half setup anyway. Though the time to grow should be reduced and there needs to be a way to preserve the food or make it so you can grow in the winter because a few carrots are squat when it comes to food.

You can live for years even, barring severe instances of RNG intervention. Or stupidity. In practice, nobody really bothers since there's not much to do after... six months, tops, maybe some megaprojects if you felt like these.

actually a glasshouse would be able to be substitue for winter growing, or a few fusion packs running lighting and the like in hydroponic setups, adds more variance to the game and if we get NPC villages theres opportunity to expand the trade systems.

It may be a bit late, but have you considered regular donation days?

Basically, every now and then you put up possible new features and people "buy" time units for coders to spend working on those features.

The current fan-base is a bit small for it, but it's still an option.

Has anyone ever done that model before on a large-ish scale? I don't think I've ever heard of that being used, and would be interested in reading about how it turned out if it was.

Yes. I would tell you or link you. But its porn. They used that model; it worked for them. They quit their job and lived off donations and donation days as described.

Then again they were providing a type of product not many others were at such a level.

Follow up to the video I posted earlier. Same life and I actually manage to do decently with it. I feel the title I gave it expresses a good part of the combat.

Could you tell us exactly what kind of porn was it that "not many others were at their level"? By PM if it'd break the forum rules.

It sounds interesting and I think I might have an idea of what he is talking about and I know about it because of DND ironically. Include me in the pm if you do that.
