Out of curiosity, is there any way to run Cataclysm on a Mac? My PC is broke and I need my fix.
You could download the Mac Build

What's the requirement for building a wire gate? I can't build it on empty terrain, pits or on existing wire fences. I assume there's something I need to construct first?
Needs two walls because I derped when adding them, has been fixed in git.

How does one move furniture? I can assure you it does not work how you'd think it would work.
You need to be above a certain strength threshold to push furniture.

There's two different spawn modes now.  Default is static spawns.  No safe period but once a zombie is dead it stays dead, so you can clear out sections of town.

Dynamic is the old behavior.

no doubt zombies should move around as well so makes sense u are never safe, but killing heaps in area should keep that area quite for a while

Morning of just the second day in my game, I've reinforced the evac shelter, got plenty of food and clean water, longbow with plenty of ammunition, hotplate, water purifier, batteries up the ass, ~100 rags, tools of all shapes and sizes, two sets of armor and reinforced clothing, books on nearly every subject, you name it. I take a step outside to see the dawn of a new, beautiful day and...

Bear. Right outside my door. Kills me in 4 turns.

Do bears give a shit what equipment you have or what you've done? No, no they do not.

Lesson #1: Bears will fuck you up and shit on your couch.

Ha, at least you can kill bears.  But those wolf spiders will actively seek you out, and don't care how many arrows you shoot at them.

woose1, you should have poked your head out of the door first: bears can't open doors.

The "peek" command is infinitely useful if you ever remember to use it. :P

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

There's also a Peak command that allows you to grow fifty feet tall. Can't remember the letter, though.

I always peek around corners when I'm sneaking through towns. The zombies can still see you, but you don't waste two turns moving to a square and back again. Also, I never open doors when I can hear something on the otherside: I've had a bear spawn in a closed bedroom before.

BS, nobody ever peeks. It's impossible to remember that command.
