Take pills when you reach yellow. I believe that's when things get actively bad. I'm the same, though. Glad there's so much aspirin to go around.

What about oxycodeine, or whatever it's called?

Actually I just weathered it all by popping aspirins.

I use oxy for high. It's addictive so don't use it too often.

Poppy painkillers are my favourite because I usually end up with a massive amount of poppy products after repeatedly forgetting what trying to pick mutated poppies actually does. On that note, most of my bandages go on my legs.

Is the temperature still a bit... off? I ask because I set fire to my house, and I'm still cold.

Also, ovens don't seem to work in the same manner as wood stoves, and I'm glad that I learned that.

Maybe it's simulating setting the bone and healing time or something? I dunno, best excuse I could find.

And that remind me: In regards to pain, when should that number be worrying? I'm paranoid about it and pop painkillers whenever pain goes above like 5.

Depends on how much you're okay with your speed dropping. Check your @ menu and you can see how much it's dropping your speed. Keep in mind that slower speed = worse in combat and less able to run away. Then just decide on what speed threshhold you don't want to pass, and medicate accordingly.

I really like this update... except I have influenza. And it sucks, because I cough all the time, and apparently the zombs can hear me coughing through the walls because there are little yellow ?s everywhere. I'm scared to go outside, but I need dayquil to stop the effects without making me sleepy, and I don't have any in the house that I'm in.

How did I GET influenza anyway? Was it because my mouth/face was cold commonly? The rest of my body had some kind of warm clothing... I don't get it. Maybe my character just got unlucky and got sick?

Also, found a house with a basement that was absolutely STOCKED with supplies. I love paranoid people. They're so useful when they're dead and their houses are empty.
Now if only I could find someone paranoid enough to keep power armor with wrist-mounted miniguns in their basement.

So far, I'm lovin' it. That might be somewhat due to the fact that I turned off Shocker and Spitter zombies, but it's also how awesome it feels just to play the game now. I really hope my character finds some bionics and stuff so I can try my luck at becoming an epic android super-soldier.

I believe there are bits you can put on them.  I found some sort of power armor carrying bit (soz, cant remember the name) but when I tried to put it on I got a message something like: 'you need to be wearing power armor to equip that.'  It had 120 storage space.

Its partially just luck based, though if you are wearing some enviro protection like a dust mask, filter mask or gas mask you are less likely to get sick.  It lasts a few days then you are all good.  Does suck though.

The flu seems to be more or less environmental and random. One of my characters was just leaving the shelter on day 1 when suddenly they get the flu. :P
