I'm quite sure you can also set the place on fire, all the ammo and maybe guns will be lost, but at least you got to the other side of the door. c:

The dwarven thing would be to smash or deconstruct the thing, but I guess you found that other way of doing things.

Or, unless its been changed, the advanced inventory management button, which is defaulted to / IIRC.

Will it spawn turrets if I try to break in a lab with an acetylene torch? Also I just found a triffid grove and a fungal tower very close to each other. Sounds like FUN doesn't it? (And the lab I found is exactly in the middle. I can see both triffids and fungaloids from there.)

It should be clarified that breaking into a place doesn't spawn turrets, the turrets are already spawned, opening the door properly despawns all the turrets.

So in other words, yes.

I'll have to hunt for scientist corpses then.

I also found a fungal bloom near the triffids, which means that they're now severely outnumbered. It's quite fun to watch them slaughter each other.

Edit: I also have more marloss berries that I'll ever need. I'm still not sure if I will eat them.

Is there any way you could add "engines" to the game that don't require more mechanics skill the more you add?

Why would you? Afraid of learning a skill? Or feeling lazy?

On the subject on engines, we need a engine that can use booze and/or gas, one that can use diesel and/or oil, and one that can use everything.

Because all of those are real things. And because its easier to grow grain for 98% pure booze and brew it than find gas.

And combination engines would be nice in any event.

-EDIT-

We also need to be able to take water and process it into hydrogen.

I was thinking along the lines of jet engines. I can't imagine why it would be more difficult to add one than 5, since you're not connecting it to driveshafts or anything like that.

With the way that engines work currently in the game, that wouldent work.

Hm...
Code: [Select]
,{
        "type" : "vehicle_part",
        "id" : "fuel_inject",
        "name" : "improved fuel injector",
        "symbol" : "*",
        "color" : "red",
        "broken_symbol" : "#",
        "broken_color" : "red",
        "damage_modifier" : 80,
        "durability" : 50,
        "power" : 20,
        "epower" : -3,
        "fuel_type" : "gasoline",
        "item" : "fuel_inject",
        "difficulty" : 3,
        "flags" : ["ALTERNATOR", "FOLDABLE"],
        "folded_volume" : 0,
        "breaks_into" : [
            {"item": "steel_lump", "min": 2, "max": 5},
            {"item": "steel_chunk", "min": 2, "max": 5},
            {"item": "scrap", "min": 2, "max": 5}
        ]
    }

In theory, something like this might work. It attaches to an existing engine and improves its power at the cost of using slightly more fuel. I haven't tested it myself though.

And it's considered an alternator, so you can attach as many different types of additions.

Super- or turbochargers might be fun, too.
