It took me a while to realise you guys where talking about Fahrenheit temperatures. *facepalm*

Speaking about temperatures, what are the new warmth values for the different clothing supposed to be? It can't be pure temperature values since I'm currently at comfortable with values ranging from +30 to -22, which would be ridiculous in both Celsius and Fahrenheit.

It seems like positive temperatures are warmer (unsurprisingly) but I can't really seem to figure out how the actual numbers relate to anything. When am I supposed to be worried, for instance?

Above 60 and below 30 I think.

Somewhere around those numbers.

What's a Cestus? I just learned how to make one from samurai swords book but I'm having trouble finding it in the crafting menu.

EDIT: Nevermind, it's a brass knuckle weapon, I wasn't looking in bashing weapons.

You can use Ctrl+F to look for recipes in the crafting menu.

Some kind of punchy thing, like brass knuckles, I think.

PRE-EDIT: good for punching ninjas, too.

I want my money back, the name: The Sword of the Samurai, suggest that it's about Samurai swords, but instead it talks of various Japanese weapons, what a waste of money.

It's an arbitrary scale where -100 is "freezing to death" and +100 is "overheating like mad". It makes a little more sense then an actual temperature reading, since in reality if your core temperature varies by more then a handful of degrees you die.

How many tiles do I have to be for a site to be active?  I started near a fungal bloom and triffid grove and I don't want it to be active because I can't deal with it yet.  Also, the wiki doesn't seem to have a page on how to craft fungicide, anyone know the recipe?

EDIT: And what is adequate environmental protection for fighting the fungals?

Creatures will still spawn near Groves, Blooms and other such structures within about ten tiles, even if the structures themselves aren't loaded in the reality bubble. I would suggest the Item Browser to find recipes and such; it's an immensely useful tool. The fungicide page is here.

Gas masks are important for fungal protection. Can't say that much about other things, since the only time I went to a fungal bloom, I was wearing full power armour. So power armour works. Royal jelly works better then fungicide for curing stuff.

Iirc you need ~10 ep on the entire body. So power armor works, also a hazmat suit with rubber boots, gloves, and a gas mask. Or a full survivors suit. Alternatively you can just chug some anti-fungal drug or royal jelly after clearing it, or just don't fight anything in melee. You can clear the entire place with ranged and not even risk gettin hit by spores (Though this might not work against Towers due to tendrils constantly spawning next to you).

Also fungal beds burn pretty well, last time I checked. So there's that.
