Yeah I know that. I was just saying that from looking at the screens on his site, it is pretty much the same as C:DDA thus he should just stick with you guys.
There's no problem from this side, but if you read his blog he seems to have quite a big chip on his shoulder about DDA.  I'm perplexed by it, but I don't have time to get in some kind of beef with him, and I wish him luck with his new project.

I guess it's the different direction you guys are going in making the game away from his original vision. It's good that you guys are doing the nice active development on it but it's still his baby so he can feel a bit upset at how it is not how he wanted it to be.

It wouldn't justify some holy crusade against DDA but it could justify some slightly icy feelings.

Still I think it's nice to see both projects active as they both offer different things.

One of the survivors I played tried that with a sports car...wasn't a survivor longer then an hour since once you start ramming more then 10 zombies in less then 3 turns, its going to cause you to come to a halt.

Now that is a zombie horde...hm...I'd have to estimate that it is a good 30 map tile radius horde...I don't even think the biotics I've picked up will be enough...

That... that thing. Of terror.

If I ever come within twelve miles of that, I am screwed.

Please, please tell me there is a way to turn it off.

Yep. Horde spawns on/off toggle.

Honestly, devs are keeping Dynamic Spawn in, it would be pretty surprising if they hadn't kept horde-free mode.

The option for it is wander spawns in the map creation screen.

My only issue is that zombie hordes can spawn on day 1. The difference between running into a zombie horde in late game and starting next to one is the difference between stepping in hot bath water and magma. At least give the player a day or two to set up their defenses.

Where does one find tilesets in order not to be looking at the game in the default ascii format?

Some should be packaged with the official stable releases, assuming you're downloading the SDL versions it should just be toggling the option from the settings.

Biggest issue though in the begining is if your on foot and a horde spawns a group on you, then your almost garenteed to die. In my opinion it should be day 7 or so that hordes begin to show up.

Hordes are in a prototype stage, my plan is to treat them much like static spawn, where it tracks individual zombies in a persistent way instead of having a mobile spawn point like it works now.  Then they wouldn't ambush you, and running away would be far more feasible.

Aero-Evaporator seems... a bit broken...it effectively eliminates the need for collecting and boiling water since you just get a metal tank from any vehicle, empty it of gas then use it once on the metal tank to have a near unlimited supply of water...maybe this is offset by it being somewhat rare to find and potentially difficult to install.
