Something tells us we should have stayed a bit longer at the hospital. Anyways if were going to leave we should go to the capital as the Rat might know something important that we don't. Like maybe a young ambitious man has taken control of our town and is holding it hostage.

Also SUPER caution we're in no condition to be fighting.

Yes, lets stay at the hospital. *Sarcasm*

We have probably already lost our wife (cannot hold land in her name, so has probably left our lands to return to the Duke. She probably also thinks us dead).

WE have probably already lost our lands. (Reassigned to another surviving lord due to our apparent death).

We have lost our physique due to our stay at the hospital thanks to a hugely convoluted, contrived and frankly bizarre series of events that could and should never have happened.

We lost our equipment, due to said battle, plus our horse.

We lost our supporters, as they were probably killed by the Sea Raiders grenades that they somehow managed to pull out their ass at the last moment.

At the moment we have FUCK ALL. No land, equipment, skills, supporters and no fucking chance. The hospital is probably the best place to stay. After all, in the state we are in now, we haven't a hope in hell of getting to the capital or to our lands alive.

Laser Rifles? Space ships? "Straining too hard to make excuses?" I have neither stress nor strain, and who said anything about lasers?

:) I said none of the above and I won't respond to imaginings and embellishments.

I have pointed out why your arguments are "straining too hard". Note that I said you are straining to make an argument, which is a well-known figure of speech. I am not asking you if you pulled a muscle, or worry about keeping your job. You clearly know that type of "stress" and "strain" was not meant, but you chose to be adversarial and petty in your response by pretending to have that understanding.

Given the prior developed background of the Sea Raiders, gunpowder may as well be replaced with laser rifles, which is a hyperbole for emphasis as you should be capable of understanding. It's a common enough rhetorical feature in English. You are arguing captiously about small word choices and pretended misunderstandings, rather than the substance being expressed. The intent seems to be making small nitpicks that avoid the central issues. You wasted your time replying without even addressing any real point. I don't suppose you should reply to this post, either, since you've demonstrated vacuity.

I feel that we should see how Mal explains this as we learn more before we jump to conclusions. Maybe they had a stash of grenades somewhere along the way. Remember, this is NOT the real world, so it's entirely possible that there is some civilization with technology that would be anachronistic were it to be the real world. (I.E. this world's equivalent of Asia/Middle East of the time, which would be far more advanced than any European nation). It might be a mistake on Mal's part, or it might be intentional, with something more coming. He's done well so far, at least give him the benefit of the doubt.

The events that actually transpired are too unbelievable and contrived to add to the game. Not to mention cliche'd. How many times has the 'supposedly died then he comes back' storyline been done? A dozen times? ten dozen? I lost could after 200....

The simple fact that something's been done before doesn't mean it can't be done again, and I'm fairly confident in Mal's ability to put a fresh spin on it.

I chose not to confront your exaggerations and self admitted "hyperbole." Adversarial? Which of us seems to be displaying that? Petty? Hum.... I see you prefer being aggressive. Such a shame. My response to you has been virtual non response; this non response shall now be literal as I will now ignore any and all all posting from you until this changes.  So long as you continue to be so predictable I need not face you at all. I will not. Let's not argue on boards. It doesn't help.

This sort of confrontational bullsh*t is going to get the thread locked again. I beg of you, no ad hom.

Where did this stash come from? Their supply trains had been decimated and they could not be supplied either by the river or from the coast.

How did they know which way they would retreat? how would they know we wouldn't just chop them down the moment they ran?

And i like the way people explain silly, bizarre things like a load of savages suddenly pulling 19th century grenades out of thin air as 'they have access to some super convenient foreign technologically advanced ally that can para-drop and/or teleport in grenades' yet when someone advocates something as mundane as semi-automated workshops people scream 'REALISM REALISM!! cant have that it does not fit in the time frame!!!!!'

Yes, let's please move on. No good can come of this.

And no, i will not move on. These last two updates have made this game a complete joke. Mal himself has gone against the rules he himself set up early on in the game.

He ahs gone against his own rules so much i am actually wondering if someone has hacked hims account and is trying to troll us.

Ad hominem? Point out the insults. I said his posts were empty of good faith attempts at discussion.  Then he agreed with me.

:( *sigh* I really hope nobody got hacked.

I was talking about how we shouldn't fight 'cause Plato Play-Doh is right. If we do, then the thread gets locked and that's bad.

But I guess Mal can handle this a couple ways. Either he redoes things or we go forward as things are (or a third choice, I dunno).

You were both being confrontational, don't try to deny it. You were both approaching ad hominem territory and I was trying to prevent it from getting to that point.

I think we need Mal himself to comment.

Agreed.

I agree, we really need Mal around.

But honestly, I wasn't surprised by the bomb because well... we sorta gave Mal the idea....

That's a... remarkably good idea.  And I believe that Mal said something along the lines of period appropriate tech, which explosives are, after all, the first guns started cropping up at about 1000AD.  And for obvious reasons explosives would've been around for even longer.

And I wanna be clear that I'm not blaming anybody but we did try making the case for guns and explosives when we wanted to use them. :(

ninja'd with the saying I wasn't trying to blame anybody.... I was just trying to say why I wasn't surprised and that it wasn't entirely out of the blue.

There is a difference between hand-cannons and large immobile cannons and 19th century grenades. the former two are plausible, maybe, as we are sort of set in the early-mid 1400's, maybe the late 1300's. But grenades? hell no.
