Agreed, plus 1 to the battle-plan. Also, the 10 men as escorts sounds like the best compromise we're gonna get here, so +1 to that as well. Wish I could come up with half-decent battleplans like Gerv can (well, more specific than guerrilla tactics)!

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

PTW.

Also whatever we should do warning the duke of  {3000 he said?} enemies is key if we don't want our lord dead and king to be hanged.

As long as you aren't suffering writer's block while giving us excruciating detail about the way in which Sir Stone dies horribly, not a problem, Mal.

I am fairly certain that we can catch the Duke, 3man, but the King may be a stretch unless we have really effective tactics.

Speaking of tactics, I was thinking of this for our beach assault. Suppose that we land and there's more of them than we expected, so the assault fails to panic them, the advance breaks down, we scared of a counterattack throwing us back into the sea. Never fear. We can portage our or the enemy's longboats into circles, overturn the boats on their sides, punch holes in their bottoms for arrow loops. Instant fortications.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Small circular bastions with interlocking fields of fire. Probably better than the enemy's own palisades.

Btw, I have news which might be interpreted as bad. I wouldn't become upset about this, or worry too much, Mal... but the years have been wrong since December of the Year 5.

I found this while doing some updates to the archive today. It appears that, when you switched from doing January and February, instead using Winter to combine them together, an error was introduced. December 05, then Winter 05, then March 05, and so on.  (We're on the Year 8 right now, not Year 7.)

Personally, I wouldn't let it break my stride.

Always been more of a word guy than a numbers guy :) Not a big deal.

I will make adjustments in my next update, which is now also being delayed by an Internet outage at home... (am on phone here).

Then let's--

...Not bad. Hurts us a little in the long run, but who cares if it lets us live long enough to care?

...I vote gerv comes up with all battle-plans from now on. Good god, you're like some sort of battle computer to spit out these good ideas one after another...

Yeah, +1 for GervassenTactics, but he must be kept away from long term strategy...

unfortunately this kind of tactic only works if we have the time to unload a few ships and secure a beach-head. Now if a detechment of enemy troops disrupt us...

*as I repeat, these people are only as good as their leaders. Once they are properly dispersed in our realm our men can report back to duty. Perhaps good admin like the Bandit King would be great for these kind of situations.

I thought we'd stop the passive aggression/ ignoring raging against people before they even say anything?

Nonrelated, we can attempt to create a beachhead while underfire by turning the boats upside down while still in the water. Just walk the fortifications straight out of the sea.

That or distractions or surprise attacks.

Speaking historically, Gerv has a much higher rate of acceptably good tactical plans than social ones.

Guys, come on. This is exactly the sort of stuff that I wanted to avoid. So... knock it off.
