IF we do resettle Folesden, we need to tear down much of the city and rebuild it (much like London was rebuilt after the Great Fire), with hygiene as the main focus, due to the highly likely fact that most of the buildings will have been damaged in riots (which start fires. Not particularly healthy for a mostly wooden city). Also, as Feroshire grows, this should also be incorporated.

We also need to attract thinkers and engineers. Now is the best time. They will be looking for somewhere stable, and Feroshire is the most stable place we know of at the moment. Wind and water wheel powered water pumps would be a godsend in case of siege and/or plague, and would allow the construction of public hygiene buildings easier.

When we expand Feroshire, sure, but there's a difference between this and the Great Fire.
Lots of things burned in the Fire.

Indeed. But...how?

Our best bet for gathering thinkers and engineers, for making Feroshire a center of learning, was Gunther. We never got to do anything cool with him. Sad, really. It's not lost on me that this turn we gained a Man of Intrigue during a time when all our problems are brutally overt, and lost a Man of Science who could have helped us rebuild. We've made an unfortunate trade.

How to get a replacement? Not sure.

Any Man of Science would of probably left of the country with all the thing that are going down. We might find a genius among the peasants but that would probably be rare. Hopefully, we can find some engineers or thinkers if we send out word.

_____

Does the sea raiders have any siege equipment?
Likely not, as they're only raiding right now, and although they have a settlement, the seem more like vikings who conduct raid from across the ocean than true invaders.  Add on top of that the fact that they would have to transport any equipment as complicated as siege equipment via ship over such a great distance I begin to find it even more unlikely.  Plus, what use would it be to them?

Ask the rat to look into whether there are any of the Foles line left.
Almost all inhabitants died. Sure, we could try to find another "succesor". But why would we. The city is gone; as are most of it's inhabitants.

We won't do anything with the information, it would just be good to know in case someone challenges us for the county.

Its not really about taking over it. But rather to keep it out of the hands of other corrupt lords.
