Do we have plague victims?
Or an enemy to use them on, approximately...now?
Yes, there will likely still be some of them somewhere, and yeah, the viking-things.
Medieval biological attacks only work in a siege where sanitation is declining real fast.
Did I mention the part where we attack them?
No.
Because that's crazy.
I think we should secure Curbiston. begin cleaning it out and if at all possible restoring order (even though I doubt anyone still actually lives there). I don't think we should go into it striving to return it into a major civilian center any time soon. but instead occupy it as a military outpost... the fact that holding it will probably give us some legitimacy is a thing to keep in mind aswell. If we don't secure it and restore the Riverchain our actual civilian center will be vulnerable to raiding by the invaders.
it would be pretty terrible if the sea raiders actually set up an outpost instead of us.
Having that extra holding under our control is also a nice trust fund for our son when he comes of age.
I agree.
I think Im in favour of taking control of the capitol, and maybe even moving ourselves and our family there soon, From there we can strive to restore order in the County.... If Arthur was still alive the task would fall to him, but as it stands it seems like Stone is the man for the job.
...You mean Curbiston, right?
Basically, our goals right now should be:
1. Retain/Create order in the County.
2. Clean and restore Curbiston.
3. Prepare for war with the Sea Raiders.
All three goals benefit from improving the situation of the County, so there's that.
I suggest that we send some men to clean the dead bodies out of Curbiston, ideally giving them good burials but dumping them in a mass grave or the river if that's not possible. If there is time or manpower left over, clean the general refuse from the streets as well. Once that is finished, inform the peasants in the surrounding region that Curbiston is once more a safe place to be and work on establishing it as a functioning--if half-ghost-town--city.
On that note, we should contact the other knights who survived the plague and organize an attempt to return the county to roughly how it was before the plague (minus the people who died, of course). I'm not entirely sure what to do, mostly because I'm not sure what needs to be done. We should probably inform them about the task the Duke gave us.
We also need to make sure that the army of Feroshire and the other knights is ready for battle.
As for the "Move to Curbiston" vs. "Stay in Feroshire" thing: We should discuss it with such folks as Feroshire's mayor, the Rat, Fin, and Marna before making a decision. Learn what they think the costs of us leaving Feroshire would be.
Also, let the other knights know before we actually start moving if we do. We don't want to look, you know...rash and power-seeking.
