That doesn't mean it won't feel a bit off when we test gonnes on our enemies' knights.

Cool with us.
Take your time, we'd rather a quality update than a rushed one.

So I need to have a small talk with my players. My firstborn is due in about a month, and between that, some other life situations and work, my frequency of posting is going to drop, perhaps precipitously. I just wanted to be up front with you all about the frequency of posting over the next few months, and make you all aware of the reason(s) why. I do enjoy the game, and I will do my best to keep it up because of that, but I can imagine daily updates will not be possible, like I've been doing. With that being said... turn!

With Owen disarmed and bound, you order him to ask for the surrender of the remaining guards. Seeing their cause is lost, they disarm quickly. The siege, as it were, is at an end.

You take the time to gather the documents that Owen was hoarding, looking for signs of other Knights collaborating with him, but fail to find any mention of them. It seems Owen was standing on his own, without any real support.

When the patrols return the next day, they similarly stand down when faced with a bound and defeated Owen. The arrival of your levies lets you garrison the gatehouses, and the city begins to calm back down and get about its business.

What will you do next? The Duke will need to be brought in to make it official, you believe, and you have to decide what to do with Sir Owen. A trial? An execution?

I dont think it is within our remit to execute him. If it is, make Arthur (? i think thats the boys name?) take the decision.

Bah!! Have the kid wait, we've got a great game going here! :P Seriously, though, congratulations!

We should just turn affairs over to Count Arthur Foles. If he wants our advice, we should be there for him, but it is his place to judge Owen, not ours.

We should also send out scouts to the surrounding area, see if Owen had any supporters on their way here to support him. If not, we can probably send most of our men home.

Give 'im a trial.  It would be all the worse to him if we show him pity, instead of just taking his head.
((Congratulations Mal, I hope there were no devilish deals for your firstborn))

We could brand him as a murderer. Literally. On the face. Make him a shamed grotesque that can't draw supporters to his cause. It may be better to leave a shattered man alive, bound in marriage to the real claimant, than risk the girl marrying a powerful and ambitious noble later on. A bit hard-edged, but worth a think.

^ Gerv's idea once we get the trial done with, this can be his punishment.

Also, Congrats Mal.

This. And make it seem like Arthur's idea, of course. Congrats, Mal!

(Congrats! And no, I don't mind if updates slow for the next...well, next forever, most likely, as parenthood seems like the kind of thing to impede your free time for much longer than the life of a forum game, even without accounting for the peculiar tendency of parents to have another child before they've finished raising the first.)

I suppose this is acceptable; however, I'd prefer a trial. More chance of humiliating Owen, more of an official ring.

Assuming that this isn't horribly out-of-proportion for the time and place, sure.
To the pain.

Did I mention congrats on the baby?

Attaboy, Mal. Already looking forward to the 4 am updates when the baby wakes you up.  ;D

I agree to all of the above. Arthur has better reasons than us to make this claim go away, so give it to him and Lope. Arthur is Count and has the right to preside at the trial. It will be totally rigged. The Rat can do us one last favour by digging around for witnesses. The right kind. As for the other men captured, Arthur will probably wish to execute them unless they also have pertinent information in their lord's trial.
