..........That's so crazy it might work! We might wanna wait a month or two though and get our rangers' skills honed a bit more
Really all we have to do is have them not give away that they're from our town, because then they just come in, 'kill' us, collect the payment, and we imprison/kill the shit outta the duke COUNT!  I meant count.

Wait, so the plan is basically to fake our death?

That should work.

Minus the faking our death part. We might just hide out iin our house for a week or something, giving Alan our orders in the meantime.

We should see if we can get him to come on the day of our funeral.  See if he'll 'pay' his 'respects', and then we arrest him.  That would be golden.  We just have to make all the people think we're dead.

Right now we're just trying to get information on the Wool merchant via Irlof and our Prisoner.

Putting an actual plan to deal with the count in effect is a bit premature.

Might I point out that if you guys go with this plan how is he guilty? By rights if you die with no heir he gets your land that's totally legal so him riding into our town with us waiting with the duke does nothing if he says something like he was just inspecting his new land which at that point if he thinks we're dead was what he was doing so I can't think this would go over well. That is if I understand the plan as it is.

Just as a note, but your entire plan proves nothing but the fact that a certain cotton merchant wants us death

It's entirely customary and completely legal for the Count to take our lands should we die. Showing that he intends, and indeed does so when he recieves the news of our death isn't all that spectacular, nor really convincing. After all, it isn't that strange that the Count would come to inspect the lands, considering the wealth and the sudden demise of it's leader.

Yep. Irlof, what do you know?

True, but we are counting on him making contact with our rangers t kill us. Your reading the joke and missing the punchline.

Guys, the problem is if we have our rangers contact the wool merchant so soon after the failed plot, it'll raise so many red flags it wouldn't be funny. We need to get as much info about this merchant as we can, and see how we can best approach him. I agree anything like faking our death or something wouldn't really prove anything, we need to somehow get the count himself to order it or find evidence he ordered it.

So, for now we put any plans for contacting the guy on the back burner, and just focus on getting as much info as discretely as possible(can't stress that point enough, it's no good if he tumbles to someone asking around about him!).

So, besides plots within plots and wheels within wheels, we have:

1)Hold the monthly hearing of grievances we promised and generally check up on the land

2)Double check to see if the prisoner told EVERYTHING

3)Write Marna a letter saying we are going to pay court to her at her estate(and arrange a visit soonish). Tell her some about what happened, but don't name the count since we don't have concrete proof

4)Look again for an architect, writing to our friends if need be to see if they know of someone who might serve. Try to finish maor

5)Build Stables and pastures for our small herd of horses. Try to find stable boys, grooms, and horse trainers(with having the most skilled horse trainer being our Master of Horse)

6)See if we can attract a silversmith skilled in making silver crafts. He should also be able to make simple copper crafts and decorations for the townsfolk to buy. Have our metalworkers start producing better tools for the townsfolk to use(whether from copper or iron, whichever). In-between tasks, have them start fashioning simple iron skullcaps for the troops. See if we can make the guy who does the best making armor into our armorer and have him start making brigandine armor

7)Speaking of buying, inquire into the laws of coinage and start converting most of the silver, gold, and copper being produced to coins for the townsfolk to use.(Not necessarily mint them ourselves, but send them to the nearest mint and get them made into coins)

8)Finish up the shipyard and start building 3 small fishing skiffs to improving our fishing output. Build smokehouses to smoke the fish and meats we produce.

9)After the skiffs, have the shipyard produce a felucca for our own personal use

10)If we have time, improve and expand the smelters+metalworkers and incorporate them into the armory to centralize weapons production.

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

7) Just as a note, I highly doubt we'll be allowed to do this. Inflation is a thing, you know. (While somewhat limited because of the fact that the value of a coin is linked to it's material value, I still doubt they'll let just anyone mint their own coins). In general, only the largest cities were allowed to have their own mint.

Yeah. We don't need to mint anything, must missed that. Why is this labeled as task no. 7?

Because it's a reaction on task no. 7?

[Edit: Can't count anymore apperently]

I didn't necessarily mean we mint our own coins(though it would be nice if we were allowed to :P), I meant we convert them into coins by sending them to the nearest mint.

Edit: Clarified it in my previous post

Double Edit:By nearest mint, I really mean "nearest mint NOT controlled by the Count" as I wouldn't put it past him to discreetly "lose" most of the stuff we sent his way
