Were there even sewers in medieval times.
Yeah, there were sewers. Also ill go with Tryrars plan.
Of course there were. Only in the largest cities though.

Sewers in a 104-or-so village with a river next to it isn't really something necessary. Same thing for water storage. Why should we do one? We have a river! That's the first reason on settling next to a river: water available 24/7 all the year. (second is fish, third is trade.)

That make me think: How's the fishing here?
Also tryrar's plan. Better houses +9001 :D

Well our first citizens, if you will recall, were fishermen.

Well, now that we got a small shipyard we can build fishing skiffs all day, so that's another project we can do(that shouldn't be very expensive or troublesome!). So, in addendum, see if we can get some small craft for the fishermen going. Also, find the most serviceable horse/mule and learn to ride better, since horsemanship is ALSO something expected of a knight

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

In that case we will need a new horse, as previously stated. If we do that I reccomend buying a few and starting an animal husbandry project. That or just buying a bunch. Archer cavalry= devistating hit and run.

Archer cavalry isn't something we can achieve, no European nations had that

Overfishing is a thing, so I propose we just limit it to upgrading/maintaining the current fleet.

Well technically they had, but those were just mounted archers. In order to fire they had to dismount. In order to fire while mounted you need to have a compact yet strong bow, ie a composite bow, a technology that wasn't known in Europe till the Mongols attacked using it.

But this is pseudo-Europe, and I hope to have trading with territories like Mongolia... Plus mounting and dismounting is still way better than being on foot.

true, even if we don't achieve mounted archery, having mobile archers can be a really great advantage. However, weren't we going for something more akin to rangers and woodsmen? I propose we stick to that for now. Besides, knights of any worth tended to have more than one horse(usually taking a train of horses on campaign), so a small breeding project for maintaining horses for our personal stable wouldn't be out of place, though it'll have to wait until we get some serious cashflow when the mine really gets going since proper warhorses are FANTASTICALLY expensive(which is why I suggested finding the best horse available in our lands right now, and just learn better riding skills)

We should start to inquire as to how exactly the courting process works.  Ask the steward if he knows.

Tryrar, I was suggesting they had riding skills as well. Like knights without the title. Easier when we have proper training methods. Shrug. Popular suggestion.

I would have said Water, Trade, then Fishing, but whatever.

Nope nope. Already had the image of indian smoke lodges flash in my head, that immediately takes precedence.
