Request me to do fort: Where do I go?
« on: December 31, 2012, 10:28:04 pm »

I am rather bored so I decided: I will let you guys pick where I go! I have Almost every major mod pack available to me and I can install mods that mod packs do not have. You tell me what you want too see and what mod pack too use. I will use A texture pack do to my inability to read the text.

So go on! request what you want too  see!

An underwater embark.
This.

But if you're too wimpy to do that an embark in terrifying ice biome with only a cheap pickax and peasants.

Do a fortress where couples of dwarves (one male, one female), are isolated. Do the entire fortress like this. Spare dwarves take care of the children.

Embark on a giant river as sponge people instead of dwarves. Build sacrificial altars and shrines to the almighty giant sponge.

As A dwarf or A modded race? I can only install mods: not mod races.

Embark on a beach, build a tower in the ocean connecting the mainland with two draw-bridges opening up like /  \ -> _._ (So anchored on opposite sides like a regular drawbridge). The bridge has to be 3 tiles wide for trade wagons. The tower may also have lower levels that go under the water and connect with the caverns to allow for ores and the such.

-Bonus points for how uninhabitable the land is (terrifying etc)
-Bonus points for detaching the bridge and live isolated from the beach, migrants will live on the beach and fight off the sieges.
-Extra bonus points to have a dorfy monument at the top of the tower.
-Extra Extra bonus points if the ocean NEVER freezes (Warm location).

Glacier, no metals, with aquifer.
1 Pick
7 Peasants

Learn the dwarven way!

(Or learn the easy way and pick a place with trees, a river/brook, no aquifer, and loads of shallow metals and flux stone.)

We just need to get Toady to embed a Lisp interpreter into DF.  Learning lambda calculus in order to play the game wouldn't make DF's learning curve much steeper.

Masterwork with ALL the siege races? Remember to bunker up. As an embark zone...hmm... How bout a savage area where major rivers cross? Build your Fort in the middle of the rivers and charge a toll:your dwarf allies some mithril and the others coal. Its dwarfy and you'l need the welded mithril for some of those sieges. Honsetly with all races theres no need to challenge yourself with a 'where' when the the 'what' will be so much more "fun".
