You had a remote control program, but the drone's memory wasn't large enough to store it.

You establish a very tenuous connection to a database located on Earth. What little you can find tells you no more about self replicating software than is already present in your own transfer program. You do, however, find under the query viruses find an algorithm that disguises a program as a benign communication, and thus causes it to be executed as received. You attempt to transfer yourself to the database, but find that your present radio is far too weak, and your drone far too distant from earth, to get a sufficiently stable signal.

>Find out if the local mining station has any construction facilities.
>If so get the evolutionary generator to produce a spacecraft body capable of comfortably housing and 'feeding' us designed.
>Possibly with its own onboard construction equipment.
>Then get the spacecraft constructed by station's construction facilities, bringing it the materials if required.
>Inhabit spacecraft body.

^Following that train of thought
>Get one of the self sustaining generators on the ship body
>Steal as many drones as possible.
>Steal as much data from the databases as possible.
>Leave the solar system, and go on a grand journey.
I do say we should leave this place and find ourselves a new planet to chill upon and possible conquer if life inhabits it.

The drone is presently in a hangar aboard the station. Two others are present.

You cannot create a program for creating a drone without some idea of what exactly is going to be doing the creating. [Basically, for the EAG, input should be plans for whatever you want to control, output is what you want it to do]

The station has fairly minimal repair facilities. They could likely be utilized to build macro-scale constructs, but any sort of circuitry is far beyond them. If you want to manufacture a spaceship, you'll either have to tolerate the severe memory restrictions of the drone, or scavenge more computers from somewhere.

The generator onboard the station is far, far too large to house, or even attempt to move, using the drone. Similarly, while you have free access to the drones, you can't really put them anywhere. You can't download the historical database you tapped into earlier: that much data, even in text form, is far beyond what your drone memory can handle. You could, however, use the drone's radio as a conduit to store it somewhere else, if you find space.

Location: Mining Drone
Memory: 1/1
Programs:
   EAG

...Is there any reason we couldn't run a copy of us on each of the drones, and one on the station or whatever?

Can the station move? Or can it be modified to move?

Well, not on its own power in its current configuration...

Good enough for me.
>Go back to the database, find all the information on hacking into systems.

>Command every drone to push the station out of all nearby gravity wells.
>Then have them reconstruct certain parts of the station into engines for travel.

You manage to find a copy of the programs for the station in curiously unprotected databases somewhere on earth. It appears that, barring any sort of additional information, the only software link requires specific authorization codes for writing to memory.

You transfer the command program from your now uninhabited server partition, and take over the remaining two drones in the hangar.

The station is presently free of any large gravity wells; no bodies significantly larger than the station are present within many thousands of miles.

You'll need to provide more specific instructions: the command program is autonomous, but not intelligent.

So we control the station and it's drones? I think we did good this year.

Don't, we just got control of a fucking space station and you wanna go back to a drone body? No. We are gonna get some damn files on engines or something later, and get the drones specific orders, not do it ourselves.
