Magma crabs aren't much like crabs. They've got these little wings that they swim through lava with, and nothing in the way of legs.

An adult magma crab, according to the wiki, is half the size of dwarf. I guess that's a little too small to be a mount (maybe an elite child-army of magma crab riders), though boars aren't a great deal larger than a dwarf themselves (larger than dwarves, but not as big as a horse is to a human). Presumably you could breed for size. Also, the tags don't show any legs or feet but the description does say they 'scurry on little feet.'

Okay, fine! I figured they were larger and more like the ocean-faring version crabs; in DF, they're more like beetles without legs.

Good job destroying my fantasy.

Don't give up your dreams. A dwarf could ride two in tandem, one foot on each. I was almost going to draw that, too.
