I don't get it. I put a weapon rack in there, nothing happened. What does he want from me? It just says 'item,' nothing in particular at all.

Maybe I should just get him killed...

Usually just putting it in the room assigned to the correct noble should do it. The only time I found this tricky was with a baron who wanted doors (he loved fracking nickel doors.) and I forgot to set them internal...

No, I mean, his demand reads like this exactly:

Demand: item in Throne Room / Office.

I have no idea what to give him, so right now I have him in my Noble's Waiting Area.

It's a bug, you can't possibly know what he wants. Keep him locked up in case he tantrums, because you won't be able to fulfill this one.

You can look to see what kind of stuff he likes, and if he likes any paticular materials and furniture try making those.

I had this same problem once... if the item hasn't been specified you'll never be able to satisfy his demand.  I tried building all sorts of awesome stuff in his room but nothing ever worked.

Ya might as well just squish 'em with a drawbridge before the order to punish some innocent "offender" is made... you can't hide from Dwarven Justice forever - the orders never expire. Just locking him in his room won't help either... the Hammerer always finds out when he gets to knock a noggin.

EDIT: oh.. if there are any posessions or bodyparts left of a dwarf crushed by a drawbridge this room is a deathtrap for your entire fortress.

By the way, does anyone know another way to draw diagrams such as the one in my last post, without having to edit a few times to line it up?
Interpunction takes less (horizontal) space then other symbols and excessive spaces are left out..
