"Stormborn," came Villieldr's reply, his own gaze slowly sweeping the chamber's occupants before snapping back to the Witch. "We may. What is it you wish to speak about?"

His focus wholly focused on the frailer man, now, Villieldr crossed his arms over his chest, taking a wide-footed stance.
"Kingship and how a friendly wager may help us both in our attempt at the Oaken crown."

The Witch in question brushed some dust from his robes, before gesturing to the exit.
"Some place more quiet?"

"There is a grove, here. Old, and often empty, for the people of this land..." Villieldr paused, drew in a slow breath, and shook his head before moving off. "I am interested in hearing what this...wager...may be, Arcturn. We will speak there, yes?"

Arcturn nodded to Villieldr, waiting until the meeting was over and etcetra, before slipping out the large door, moving towards the grove. Three men, each wearing thick, woolen cloaks of three different colors, followed along after he stepped out the door.

At the Grove
Arcturn had perched himself in the crook of a tree, finally slipping his hood back.
"The wager is simple. If one of us has less support than the other when it comes next winter, we support the one with the most support of the two of us. Understand? It would greatly help our chances of a Follower getting the throne."

Grimmyr had arrived at the grove a short time before Arcturn. Alone. To assassinate another during parley was dishonorable. To do so in the eyes of the gods? That was unfathomably worse. As the white-haired witch found a spot in the tree, the red-haired warrior rose from his kneeling position, hands unclasping.
He listened patiently while Arcturn spoke, and then remained silent for a moment longer as he contemplated his own response. "An interesting wager," Grimmyr agreed, slowly, gaze shifting to the great oak which sat at the center of the grove, "And one which I shall accept. You have my word, Arcturn Storm-Born."

Neric grasped the hilt of his blades for a moment as he watched the people around him leave, or form little groups to chatter away, all in all no one seemed hostile to Raesarla so he returned to his previous stance. Running his hand through his hair he threw off the black hood and spoke,

"So my lady, do you wish to return to the hold now? I'm sure there is much you wish to prepare for over the coming days, after all we've just entered a consented to secret war."

Neric said the last with grin, but his eyes scanned the room looking for anything out of place.

"And you have my word, Villieldr Valdyrbol, as well. May your blade strike first and true, with the power of lightning in it's iron."

Arcturn nodded once, almost to himself, biting at his lip, before hopping down from the ash, giving a small stretch of his thin form. He gave another bow to Villieldr of Valdyrbol, his tone pleasant, calm as the sea on a spring day. "May the best man win, and, by which, I mean you."

Then he turned, making to head out, his hands finding the pockets of his robe, the men waiting on the edge of the grove, not daring to step over the sacred boundary until the meeting was over, followed him as soon as he stepped away from it. He muttered a small prayer under his breath to the gods of the forest and grove, then he headed towards the throne room once more, slowly striding to near the fire, bowing once to the pyre, before moving away, the light of the burning remains reflected in his grey eyes and on his tattoos.

Grimmyr returns to the Valdyrbol Villages.
Requesting information on the clan that shares my river lands, to the east. Who are they? What do they do? What is their general disposition towards me?

[4] The Aldoryl clan is a relatively peaceful neighbor, with a culture somewhat similar to yours. However, they are a lot more settled down than the Valdyrbol; the warriors and hunters have been replaced, over time, by fishermen and woodcutters. Although there have been petty quarrels over the borders in the past, they were at peace with you for most of their history.

[5][4] The Valdrim and Kaldrim are a two sister clans who were separated under the rule of the Old King in order to settle feuds in the family. They are a relatively peaceful bunch, living mostly of fishing and farming; they are also diligently hated by most forest clans because they are starting to abandon the ways of the Keldars over time, growing soft in their sea-side homes and forgetting the way of their people.

Gragrar Hvítr returns to the Stronghold of the Steggir. (still haven't decided on an official name)
Request information about the other clans sharing the island.

[2, 6] The nearest clan on the island is that of the Magnars, and their northern neighbors are the Undars (you don't know much about the ones further north - they stopped sending ships your way during the Watchful Peace). Both clans are well known raiders, and they've been at war since the news of the King's death arrived, not even bothering to wait for the King's Peace to officially end. In fact, it looks like the Undars are winning: this could be dire news...

Raesarla returns to Ryndrin's hold.
Request information about the other clans nearby.

[3, 2] The nearby clans are the Aeldrin and the Ologar. These two clans have a culture similar to yours, but there have been many wars between your three people over the course of the year, often involving the domination of the western forests. They hold little love for you or yours.

-----------------------------

Event

A small flotilla of raiders have started harassing the Bay since the King's death. Relatively well organized, they've taken to raiding small villages along the coastline, counting on the lack of superior authority to prevent the clans from setting up an organized defense. Although the major clans were not touched, due to their relatively larger standing armies, many of the minor clans or even simple villagers have sent a call for help.

In order to deal with the situation, the King's Loremaster has put a bounty of one Ducat on the head of every captain - there are five in total. The raiders are most likely impossible to catch at sea, but one could probably cut them off from their ships and finish them off when they're stuck inside the land...

Darros finally had arrived at the gathering... Only to find it empty.

"This is an outrage! How dare them not wait for the Lord Koellath!"

Darros steadily searches the location for the Loremaster, in a desperate last attempt to lay his claim for the throne; he knew his words weren't entirely true, and it was his fault alone not to have arrived on time.

"You must understand, sire; my lands are the farthest away from this meeting, and I should be given chance to lay my bid for the crown as well, I am still a Clan Leader of Keldared.

Try to persuade the Loremaster
Return to Koelling (This will be the stronghold name)

Alric never attended the meeting of the clan lords, over there in the King Holdings. He did not care about the kings, like his father before him. Pretender would rise, fall and kill each other, until one  survived. He would be crowned king then and all the bloodshed cease.

Nothing what his clan would help.

So, instead of strolling around in the wilderness, just for the sake of mere politics, he instead helped his clan with his presence. As clan leader, it was his obligation to lead the whalers to their bounties and organize the hunters for their hunts in the forests.

Also he had an eye on "his" mage... Ilmatar. The mysterious girl was... well, mysterious and it was possible that she was dangerous as well. He always felt uncomfortable in her company. He spoke with the winds and her words were always a whisper in the air. It was just weird.

But her abilities were useful, so he kept her.

"I need your advice, wife of wind... Will there be a storm tommorow? The clan needs the meat for the white season..."

After talking with Bloodcaller....

Arathor headed back to his clan hold. As far as the people were concenred, there was little to disturb Veordan and their lands, and Arathor had his eyes set on the two minor clans inhabiting Highlands with Veordans. His father talked much about how they were destined to always rule the upper reaches of the country, yet he never managed to fully extend his control over all land. A hunting trip would be just the thing to scout out and see what are others up to...

Right after his arrival in the Veordan Hold, Arathor called out to Voric "We are moving out for a hunt! Get our men and prepare our spears and bows. We will move into new territory today, and see how strong is game there."

Move out with hunting party towards two clans south of Veordan. Under guise of hunting trip try to scout out the land there and get all info on those clans.
