Trust Mafia 2 (0/2) - Game over!
« on: December 29, 2012, 03:49:11 pm »

This game is an experimental 2 player setup.  One of the following two setups will be used:

1/3 chance:
2 townies

2/3 chance:
1 voteless mafia goon
1 townie

Special rule: it only takes one vote to hammer lynch or no lynch.

Town wins if, after the day, all townies are alive and there are no living mafia members.  Otherwise, town loses.

Mafia wins if town loses.

If one week passes with no votes there is no lynch.

Should be relatively easy to find 2 players.  The setups are weighted like that to make the chances of your opponent being mafia 50/50 if you're a townie.

Round 1 results:
Urist Imiknorris - Lynched - Townie (lost)
Nerjin - Endgamed - Townie (lost)

Round 2 results:
webadict - Survived - Townie (won)
ToonyMan - Lynched - Voteless mafia goon (lost)

You'd lose if you tried to vote as mafia, or lose your vote pointlessly as town.

So it's basically luck hm? Alright, I'm In I guess. I'd like to see how this plays out.

It's not luck - if you're a townie your aim is to work out whether your opponent is town or scum and vote accordingly, while if you're scum your aim is to trick the townie into thinking you're town.  It's essentially the same as normal mafia but shrunk down to two people.

I'll generate the setup now.  The randomization process will be:

Generate a number from 1 to 3.
If 1: both players are town.
If 2: Nerjin is town, Urist is mafia.
If 3: Urist is town, Nerjin is mafia.

This means that if you are town there is a 50/50 chance the other person is mafia, so neither option is more likely to make you win.

Game start!  1 vote to lynch or no lynch.  Deadline is in one week from now.

To prevent role PM discussion, the townie role PM will be posted here.

You are an innocent townie who happened to stumble across Leafsnail's corpse.  You spotted someone else next to him, and a few seconds later you had your guns pointed at each other's heads.

Could this be the famous assassin Hassan, capable of killing a man with his bare hands within seconds?  If it is you can't afford to point your gun away from him for second, and must ultimately shoot him.  If it is Hassan then at least he must have already used his bullet on Leafsnail.

Or is it another innocent townie who happened to find the corpse?  If so you need to fire your bullet away from him to demonstrate that you aren't Hassan, and that you mean no harm.

You win if, after the day, all townies are alive and there are no living mafia members.  Otherwise, you lose.

Alrighty then, let's see how this goes down.

Other player, is there anything you can say to convince me you are town?

What are you readings of the myself that you have so far?

What questions do you have for me?

Nerjin gripped his revolver tightly as he eyed the person across from him. "Why did you do it?" They asked him. "Do what? Walk over here? I heard a gunshot, I can only assume it was the one who murdered him." licking his lips nervously as he stared at what might be his final sight "I'm only trying to find out whether it was you or not. So once again I'll say it. Answer my questions."

My only crime was walking onto the scene of a murder. I didn't do anything. You on the other hand avoided my first two questions entirely. I reccommend you answer them.

Of course I didn't answer them - they both came down to statistics.

And walking onto the scene of a murder isn't a crime. So what's your actual only crime?

I jaywalked to get to the crime-scene. I'm not proud of it.

Would you active-lurk until the end of the week to win?

That'd be a bad idea, so no.

Would lynching you result in a town win?
