Farms not farming :(

hey i set up a farm outside in the light above ground and all that but when i pressed Q and looked at the farm it said i had no seeds available for this location and i have strawberry, blade weed, and sun berry seeds...what's going on?

Are they in a stockpile? I think you can only use things when they are in a stockpile.

My guess would be that either your farms are built on a mountain biome or they're above the tree line. I think either of those conditions prevent the growing of crops (though either will let you build the farm plots themselves).
