Do we have to state our intentions with our spells? For instance, I'd like gust to give me a speed boost while flying.

So, if I just, say, touched a terribly burned leg and said "Heal", I could get +1 to the roll and no penalties for using over one word?

But presumably can only do that 10 (did you say 10?) times before resting to restore mana?

Yes, you receive a +1 thanks to your feat and as long as you use no more then one word you will not receive penalties. And Yes, each word costs one mana so you could do it 10 times before running out. Don't expect the basic heal spell to be particularly powerful though.

Do we have to state our intentions with our spells? For instance, I'd like gust to give me a speed boost while flying.

I do recommend that, makes it easier for me to know your intent.

I'll just put it in parenthesis at the end of my turn then.

"Well now this feel wrong, oh well."

It might feel wrong but if I get killed I won't be able to give everyone a magic rub!

I'm going to magic rub myself first though.

And them derm.

Can't help but feels it odd for a paladin to beat a cripple, even if that cripple is a enemy trying it best to kill him.

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

I would say that depends on the paladin, if he is very zealous the paladin could be completely without mercy. I am reminded of Kore in the webcomic Goblins.

Can I get a definition of rituals, casting, and evocation?

Rituals=mp regain, and asking your god for things?
casting=each level get you 1 more word base. If over -1 or more.
evocation=fire, ice and lightning.
Alteration=transformation.
Restoration=healing.
Abjuration=buffs.

am I right, GM?

Yup, except that Abjuration mostly focuses on protective spells and not buffs in general.
