Hey, future self. I just told mom that I want to take a break from college for a semester, so hopefully you've already gotten a job and are back in college. If not, you've managed to be more of a failure than expected, so get the fuck back in school. I'm not even going to consider the possibility that you didn't get a job and had to move back in with your parents, because I don't believe that has a chance of happening. If that actually happened, you're a dick.

Also I'm pretty confident I'm going to work some gender stuff out during 2013, so hopefully you've done that. If not, I'm a little disappointed but I understand. Shit's scary.

I wonder where you're living now. Potentially with R, potentially with N, potentially with both of them? The roommate world is full of mysteries. But you've got loads of friends and shit so I doubt there were too many problems. Hopefully you were a bit more assertive this time so you didn't end up as close to getting ditched for someone else's convenience. Yeah, I'm still bitter about that. I hope you are too.

If you're still surrounded by idiots in meatspace, just remember that you had it worse back here in 2013.

And stop slacking off in school, they don't care if you understand the stuff, just that you do their busywork, for the most part (And if you opted out of AP Chemistry again, I will build a time machine, come to you, and beat you over the head with a textbook. You nearly started that class this year and beat your potential classmates, who were all seniors at the time, on the practice AP exam you were given.). I don't want to be swamped in student loans through university, and they've raised the bar so that an excellent ACT score isn't all you need for the good scholarships. Your GPA makes you look like a lazy ass. And if you haven't already, try to work on getting a job. I know it's unlikely, since you're still only halfway through your senior year, but you can try, no harm in that.

And keep improving on being a decent person online, even if you don't care for people in meatspace. Stop censoring yourself on stuff that you think sounds stupid, you rarely engage in the most interesting conversations because you're too afraid of people thinking that you're not as smart as you are because you posted something that you thought sounded dumb. Starting with this time capsule.

You should be well along in learning Japanese by now, approaching fluency maybe? And it should be eminently possible for you to have at least two hours of performance quality repertory under your belt. Polish up what you know now and spend more time on songs and less on exercises. And more books, more essays about them, and more short stories written. If you can make even 50% more than what you did this last year then that would be an accomplishment. Further, start drawing. You know you want to, so stop telling yourself you have too much else on your plate.

So in previous time capsules I wrote things like get a girlfriend(2009), which I failed at and given up on completely, Learn to program, which again I have failed to do and get a girlfriend(2010), Pass exams which from perfect future hindsight weren't that hard, move out and get a job which I have failed at, doing basically nothing but sitting on computer 24/7 like a slob (sarcasm)good job me (end sarcasm) (2011). Now technically in 2013 but lets treat it as 2012 for now, I am actually moving out for sure, But still the lingering worry that I fill fail at being an adult at being responsible for myself. It's fucking scary. If I don't get a job as soon as I move out I'm going to bitch slap you future me. MOVE YOUR ASS. I always wonder why people don't do anything with their lives, and now that I realised I'm one of those people and that I don't do anything to change it, is the dumbest thing ever. FFfffff-uck. 3+ fucking years of wasting my time. Let's not make this a 4th.
