I can imagine in the future after GWG took some energy from the past, we get in a fight with our avatars and just as i'm about to punch him in the face my limbs disappear.

400% Interest rate per millisecond?

(9x10^100) percent per nanosecond.

Mod, you should really get Lazarus. It saved my verbal ass countless times.

Also, how do we get aligned with a sphere? Just by using it a lot?

Hey everybody. First of all, I've got Lazarus. Can't complain so far and it's nice to not have to worry, so thanks for the tip Dariush. I've got about half of the racial turn done today and managed to make some pretty decent archival notes yesterday, but I just received some great family news. My brother is getting married! Silly schmuck had the whole proposal mapped out, whole giant romantic setup for the end of him and his soon to be wife's holiday visit to London, was carrying the ring around for days in his pocket beforehand when he suddenly cracked, got down on one knee in the street and asked her (needless to say, she said yes). Anyway, that's putting a bit of a dampener on me finishing the racial turn today, as I'm heading out to do family type things now (it's early evening and I have a feeling that I'll be drunk before midnight  :) ). Tomorrow is New Year's Eve, for all those of you who have abandoned or never excepted the Gregorian Calender. That's either going to mean I stay in, filled with hate at the overly commercial celebration of the arbitrarily defined end of one year (for fuck's sake, why can we do it on the Winter Solstice like sensible people?) and get out the racial and next main turn, or someone I know is actually having a party. The second isn't that likely, as for some reason just at the age where everybody is starting to get their own places no one seems to want to host festivities. Still, we'll see.

Also, how do we get aligned with a sphere? Just by using it a lot?

Basically. It helps a little if you created that Sphere/thing that defines that sphere. You can also get them as an unintended consequence (Xantalos gaining violence springs to mind).

or maybe Valve goes out of business because they invested too heavily in something which then fails - like, say, human civilization.
Alternatively, initiate strife to refuse additional baked goods, and then abscond.

Glad to hear that the turn is being delayed for such great reasons. Congrats to your brother; may he and your sister-in-law-to-be have a happy life.

And we can't have the new year on the Winter Solstice because we don't want to deal with reshuffling months. Just imagine...December 31st is now where December 20th was. Is Halloween on the old October 31st (October 20th) or the new? How about birthdays? Expiration dates on legislation, contracts, etc?

So... that means that it is encouraged to only use your own creations and never share with anyone else? :(

Looking at it differently, it is discouraged to take apart others' creations. Not that that helps.
