Again, hence the regular gym. And once we do get proper superstrength, we can start going to supergyms.

Alright, let's sum up plans made so far.

1. Join some sort of swimming club.
2. Join a gym.
3. Train.
4. Meet supers.

Anything else, or should we go on with the summer?

Looks fine, but we should also check out any super dating sites if we don't get a super.

June
You decide to work out some. Your parents are a little mystified by this, but they don't seem to mind overly much.
In the end, you join the local YMCA1, for simplicity, swim every Tuesday and Thursday, and work out every Monday and Wednesday. This leaves Fridays and weekends open--plus, of course, the parts of the days you're not at the Y.
You meet two supers, a woman of about 17 named Nora MacDonald and a man in his 30's named Richard Shaw. Nora can turn into a sort of oily liquid, still maintaining cohesion usually, and Richard can manipulate live plants. Not exactly A-Grade material. You 2.
By the end of June, you have managed to increase your strength. Your healing helped--you didn't get tired as easily and got up less beat than you would have otherwise. Your strength is still within human norms, but between training and power you're well above-average.

1-Or something else if someone has a better idea.
2-What did you do with Nora and Richard?

You hung out at (Insert Nora and Richards's shared interest here) and later on saw some super boxing matchs in the front row. (You see what I'm getting at here)

Yup.

Hm, super-boxing...you just made me go off on a whole mental tangent about sports. I'm still hashing out the details, but suffice it to say that professional sports are divided into mundane and super leagues, and that a Super-Olympics has been tried a few times over the years due to superhumans not being allowed in the Olympics.

How long has the general populace been aware of the existence of supers?

also, I approve of rabidgam3r's suggestion.

Supers, both heroes and villains, have been known for millenia. They weren't always called that (secular thinkers hypothesize that Jesus of Nazareth could have been a powerful super when there aren't any Christians within earshot), but they've been around as long as humanity.

July
Nora and Richard don't actually know each other. Well, they've met at the Y and probably know each other by name, but that's about it. They probably haven't even run into each other much--Richard was swimming most of the time you've seen him, and Nora typically uses either the cardio equipment or some weight machines. Still, you might as well introduce them to each other. Couldn't hurt, right?
As it turns out, the two of them don't get along with each other too well. With some patience and mediation skills, you keep them civil, but they're certainly not friendly to each other and typically try to ignore each other if possible.
Interested in making your new friends more friendly to each other, you try to figure out if they have any common interests. Richard likes swimming, gardening, and boxing (watching, not participating); Nora likes painting, science fiction movies, and boxing (participating, not watching). Well, there's some common ground...
You suggest that Richard come to watch one of Nora's boxing matches. They're not big events, just a few high school and college supers who like boxing getting together and making up tournaments and such. She's fighting a super with enhanced strength; pretty much any blow he tries to deal, she liquifies before it can contact. Useful. Some Nora splatters onto you, thanks to your front-row seating; eventually, Nora KOs the other guy. Without blood. Shame.
Richard notes that he felt odd being there. He probably won't come again.

You also befriend a couple of fairly normal humans at the Y this month. There's a pair of twins, Caitlyn and Kathy Patterson, who are in their mid-30's; Caitlyn is a computer programmer and Kathy is an engineer. You also meet a Greg Petersen, a few years older than you and studying to become a doctor. Interesting contacts.

Anyways, there's about a month before school starts if you want to rob a blood bank. What will you do?
