Looking for an older version
« on: December 21, 2012, 05:48:44 pm »

But I don't know which one it is! See, the whole minecarts-and-rails thing is too confusing for me. Which version of Dwarf Fortress is before those were implemented? If you know, please tell me! Thanks!

Edit: Oh, and a Lazy Newb Pack version would be GREAT. Thanks!

Rails and minecarts are optional. If you don't like them, dont build them, as simple as that :P.

Oh. But wasn't dwarves hauling overhauled? A la, they can't just lug a thousand pounds of stone back and forth?

Seems like a sorta handicap if you don't use minecarts...

You use wheelbarrows to move stuff around... (like rocks)

Also, densities weren't changed because of minecarts, but because Toady got some more accurate data from the community. Not a handicap, just some more realism.

I wonder if the game has become odd.

It's a handicap for me, even the wheelbarrows thing doesn't sound to my liking. Is there an older version of it?

I am not a clever man.

There.
One is 34.05  and the other 34.07
I don't know which hasn't minecarts and wheelbarrows

Bay12Games.
Dwarf Fortress.
Download.
Legacy!
---Checking Wiki---

"Since their introduction in version 0.34.08, a new hauling labor preference was added to all dwarves, called "Push/Haul Vehicles", turned on by default"

'Older Versions'
0.34.07.
GOOD TIMES

I must warn you though, there have been bug fixes in the new versions.  Like mentioned above, just don't mess with them if they confuzzle you.  Plus, on the bright side, they are still there if you ever want to play around. . .

Why would you link to the legacy version? That's just super inconvenient for anyone with tilesets. Older versions can be found here, you probably want this one:

My apologies, then.  What is the difference between legacy and the standard?  Backwards compatibility?
