'Cos I don't live on Reddit.

Do we have any "Generation ME" people here?
Are you talking about baby boomers, or millenials?

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

I'm 18 guys. I consider "my generation" to be kids born between 1990-1999, I was born in '96.

The issue is that almost the generations since WWII have been called the "Me generation" at the time, including the parents and grandparents of Generation Z. Each generation is either referred to as the "Me generation" or the biggest narcissists of all times by the older generations.

It would definitely make more sense as a name for the baby boomers though

Alright, I'm '92.

Let's see what I remember and you don't.
I feel like the list is gonna be pretty small...

Then an '88 can come along and talk about the things which I never personally experienced either.

So...
Chumbawamba, Smashmouth and Eiffel 65.
Abe's oddysee, Ocarina of Time, SEGA.
(Australian stuff) GST, Olympics, John Howard's Eyebrows.
The Dial-up tone, the Y2K bug.

11/09/2001, I was on a field trip at school and we all had a minute's silence in the bus for a lot of people in a country we barely knew anything about.

(Subsequently because us colonials were actually very backwards in those days, some of this stuff might not add up perfectly.)

And I though "ME generation" had something to do with Windows… What a terrifying thought that was.

Articles about generation me:

1) Generation Me = Generation Y
http://people.howstuffworks.com/culture-traditions/generation-gaps/generation-me.htm

2) "Me Generation" = Baby Boomers
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Me_generation

3) "Me Generation of the 80's" = Generation X
http://www.theguardian.com/money/2008/may/25/workandcareers.worklifebalance

...4) Now, Gen Y swears that Gen Z is the "me generation". Even though by most measures Gen Z are still in grade school.

I actually remember commercials for the sequel to Abe's oddysee! or a rerelease, or something.

Maybe we should just accept that we were born in the "Era of Me".

Quick question, why not take this to reddit?
Because it's actually very much within the scope of this thread. Sure, it's the East German portion of that generation, but this board is hardly exclusively American, is it?

I welcome that down to earth, solid bit of the thread. However, I recommend (as it's creator) that this thread move to reddit expressly so it's not our narrow slice of humanity. I'm sick, and haven't kept up with the thread, so I turn to you to deal with it.

I, too, am not on reddit. You can always lock the thread, of course, but trying to get everybody to up and move to a different community is probably impractical.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Let's just delete GD and replace it with a link to r/TheRedPill

And that's how being a member on the Bay12 forums became a bannable offense on gender related subreddits.
