Yes, but the general consensus is the poem is now the canon ending. Cause it is that awesome, especially if you do it to the tune of 'Over The Misty Mountain Cold" form 'The Hobbit'.
Well, Sprin was kind of ripped apart when he ended his turn also...

Jee wilikers, I think Highmax is near invulnerable, must have been dunked in the river styx like achilles was.
Just make sure he wears a boot.

So, I was brainstorming a bit for teh lol mod and I was thing of adding weapons and bolts that make the creature it killed's corpse unressurectable or maybe a syndrome that comes with some dwarfs like tortured by armok or something similar. Well, that is if I get around to learning how to mod. Mostly just putting ideas out there.

Would reactions work? I'm not very well versed in them but I do think they exist in DF that could cause it to work. Dammit, we need Talvieno!
Heh, just saw this. I suppose I've been summoned.

There isn't a way that I know of to create bolts or weapons that permakill zombies. It's potentially possible to create a reaction that releases a dust or vapor that, when inhaled, causes a creature to become unresurrectable, HOWEVER... This would only work while the creature is still alive. Zombies don't breathe.

Not sure what you mean by "Tortured by Armok", though.

If you think about it, most of the zombie parts (hands, heads, chests, skin, hair, feathers, etc.) don't have a full respiratory system. They'd all suffocate pretty quickly if you made it so they could breathe.

If you think about it, most of the zombie parts (hands, heads, chests, skin, hair, feathers, etc.) don't have a full respiratory system. They'd all suffocate pretty quickly if you made it so they could breathe.

So we're stuck with the sole solution of traps (which isn't even a solution)? It doesn't sound good, but this is what makes the mod ridiculous anyways.

With proper management, we shouldn't have to worry about a return of Ur's Army. Just throw corpses in magma, or some such.

You guys did fix laptops, didn't you? I'd hate to not have any ammo for them...

Also, traps can be pretty effective, particularly magma-based ones... although I suppose not against Haxxor, the way they're trapavoid. I also seem to remember flying fireball-casting creatures... Honestly, this mod is more of a challenge to defeat than the Spearbreakers mod. lol   (Maybe not Spearbreakers II, though... And definitely not the God of War mod I've been working on every now and then (that thing's crazy hard).)

Oh, and don't forget minecart traps. A nested array of rapidly-moving minecarts will totally wipe out almost EVERYTHING that moves through, even in a major siege... provided you build it correctly, and you make sure that you autoforbid EVERYTHING, both in there, and outside the fortress. Otherwise you'll hit your own dwarves.

Laptops should work in the latest version but I can't guarantee them. We're going on a modding spree soon so the mod should become even harder from what I foresee to happen.

Right, I made this with the intention of having a sort of Necrothreat "song", if it can be called that. I haven't really tried this sort of thing before, and it's not too different from poetry, but what do you think? Could it pass as a song?

I saw a city burn away,
I heard its walls collapse,
Its smell was smoke and fiery sparks,
Its look was broken waste.

Oh, should our world be taken
In the flame and fire,
Recall the rules forsaken!

Just sit and see the coming fog,
Remember as it was,

I think songs have more chorus and are a tad shorter. But as always, it depends on the song.

All we need now is to have somebody make a song with those lyrics and we're in the musical business.


Edit: I am sorry to Dorsidwarf and Wasara for not getting a chance at this fort. As we can see, Sprin managed to kill it off and we're now preparing for Necrothreat III. If you decide to join us there, I might give priority (Logistics!) to you.

I'm kinda asking for ideas on that actually. I want to add a syndrome or caste to the formites, make them a bit more then dwarfs by a different name.

No sweat! It's gonna be much more fun to play a fort in an earlier year, especially now that there a lava cannon of death at this forts disposal.
