So cause I'm tired of it, and if I dont have one thread for it then its going to go evrey where

lets start with my back story
From a young age I had talking, writing, and reading problems (the reading problems where not "problems per say")
I had a speech impediment, bad hand writing, etc. Basically English is the worse possible subject for me with the exception of Gym.

So during kinder through third grade is where I think it all stared, due to my bad hand writing, I believe the term is chicken scratch. My hand writing was unreadable, even I after a while could not read it, and so the teach just gave me a passing grade. Speech? I could not say blue in Spanish as it sound like ass hole, went to the principals office like eight times for that, now I naturals dont say blue in Spanish, as well as pick "easy" words to say\spell when I can.
Now to reading, I'm a good reader in the sense I read the thing and I get ithow ever two too and to can be in the wrong place, and I'll still read it right

So say there where to cats, my brain will read that as two and see nothing wrong with it, I guess the best thing is I'm good at context.... I think it drove my teachers nuts

Well anyways through those years it was hard to understand, and as a kinder and 1st was  to emberesed(I've tried four times here to spell it right and spell check still wont give me anything close to it....)
  ask for help after all every one says your native tongue is easy, and every one else seemed to have no problems with it, in 2nd grade I asked for help went through summer school form then in till well, the end of school.
Hours where spent at the kitchen table, sometimes falling asleep sometimes hearing my parents tell me the bus will be out side soon


And here I am twenty odd years later, still like this, after a total of 14 years (was held back in K once because of my English skills) in public school, and many many countless hours of trying I'm still here, same way I was, I wont say I've NEVER improved, I learned new words, but even they where often slept wrong, but my problem is that even with all I learned spelling, grammar, English in general might as well be advanced math for an advanced civlazation(another couple treys cant find how to spell it right)
I've tried the "school way" and it dont seem to work, it did not then, its not working in college, what more can I do? how much of my life am I going have to give to this?

You can try a vocabulary.You can also take some classes that teach you how to spell,how to use verbs and adjectives and I guess you could also try getting somebody to dictate you a text and let you try to write what he said.

PS:Are the mistakes in your first post intentional?

Mistakes where not, in fact I was quite proud of how I did, very few red lines this time, always a plus.

My advice:
If you're not sure how to spell a word, Google it. Google has a great "Guess what word I'm trying to type" feature. And it'll usually bring up definitions, so you can be sure it was the word you were looking for.

I do it all the time for words I don't use often enough to know how to spell off hand.

In my completely unprofessional opinion, you may have dyslexia. Have you talked with a psychiatrist about this issue? They can provide you with coping strategies, and a self-confidence boost because they'll explain to you how it doesn't imply lower intelligence (plenty of great men were dyslexics).

Use google translate, I type it in the adress bar so much that whenever I type "tr", it automatically fills in the rest. Great to know the correct spelling of a word.

How do you see words? I mean, you can obviously write your thoughts down and not use the wrong words, so words are still linked to concepts, but I mean spellings in particular. Lets say you want write "chicken", do you remember the pronounciation and try to go from that, or do you have a fuzzy concept of the shape of the word and write whatever makes sense, or is it something else?

I'm not quite sure if you're not an English speaker or have dyslexia or something.  If you aren't a native English speaker, the solution is pretty easy.  Just read, write, speak, and listen to English at every opportunity.  Reading is especially helpful because you can go through it at your own pace, and you can pick up the spelling.

As for dyslexia, I'm at a loss.

I have the "shape" I guess, as well as when I try to sound it out I also tend to hear the wrong thing.

Well, I don't know about dyslexia but whenever a word you used doesn't seem quite right, Google it. That's how I learned the correct spelling of many different words. Also, use a spell-checker.

BTW, English is not my native language.

Wolfy, your last post in this thread was very readable, and up to the standard of communication needed to easily convey a point. Every word in it is spelled correctly. You obviously have the potential to be a decent communicator.

My guess is that you slowed down, reviewed what you were doing, and took the time to correct any mistakes. Patience and perseverance, fellow forumite.

You would be wrong sadly, very common thing to suggest , spelling problems? MUST be going to fast. I dont blame the idea, it fits most, it just not my problem in this case
 
In fact, you will find short one or two sentences I can make, one can look at my words and see that I can spell many right, there are just some no matter how many times I type them out, sound them out, write them out, spell them out I don't get them right, no amount of writing for years "sheered" it in to my brain and to this day I cant remember how to spell them, or anything with them really

words like "diffrince" (not in that post) dose dose unverse, and many others, you will find very often my misspelling words can be put in a "list"

which with short and sweet senescence are not needed, but to have the type of convos we have here? the ones I'm not good at using are in them

and if you looked you would see all of those words just happen to be the "easy" words for me, I have some understanding of it, I can spell many words right, just so happens a lot of common, more "harder" words I cant, but they tend to apear in longer posts then short, if you look at my one or two sentences posts you will find most are right because its easy to stick to the ones I CAN spell, or at least use spell check on

If they tend to be the same words, then my guess is it is something along the lines of dyslexia.  It's clearly not something like a lack of intelligence.  If that were the case, you would probably spell words more by phonetics.

Also, out of curiosity, are your speech and penmanship better?  I had those problems when I was younger too.

I cant use a pen, schools are required by law to give me laptop or something or someone to write for because its THAT bad.
speach... cant say Sh, Ch, S, a few others, and my lisp is quite clear, so hard to understand, but more or less I'm fine with how I speak (lot less to go wrong there)

Aw, man.  I know what you mean about the name.  Why do I have to have an "r" in mine!

For me, I can't say "S" because of a lisp, and "R" sounds like "ah" or "aw."

It's because of my jaw.  Damn thing.
