Within the multiverse, there are many worlds. Whether alternate dimensions or simply different locales, these worlds can be accessed by the savvy, but their purposes in doing so vary.
What binds them together, however, is opportunity. These worldshifters seek out important events, opportunities, and occurrences, hoping to accomplish whatever aims they might have at these pivotal junctions. Some seek to further justice or help the meek, others covet preying upon the innocent or bringing the world to ruin. And of course, many simply seek to line their own pockets, experience new things, or gather fascinating stories.
You are one of these. To access the Multiverse, you utilize patterns called Songs to seek out new opportunities. But beware, for Songs rarely grant exactly what their possessor intended...
Songs are music that has been submitted by somebody, which I then listen to for inspiration on your next world/situation. Needless to say, this might result in exactly what you were expecting or something totally different.
Whoever is most pivotal in solving the current scenario will generally receive the ability to submit the Song for the next one.
Creation and Interpretation
When you submit a character, you lay the foundations for what you're actually going to play. However, there's a catch. New Songshifters come from whatever worlds the group is on when a new spot opens up- meaning they're natives of that world, meaning your character is going to need... interpretation. Depending on how well your character fits into the world in question, this might be minor tweaking or complete shifting, but it will always attempt to keep the essence of your character, even if the specifics change rather wildly.
Furthermore, this interpretation occurs every time you Songshift. Some aspects of a given form may fall under the use of Skills, however, allowing interested and lucky characters to retain some aspects of their favorite bodies.
Health and Wounds
Good question. You'll be the second ones to find out!
Items and Skills
Numerous goodies exist to be found in the multiverse, both in the form of items and persistent skills. Both can be somewhat challenging to obtain permanently, but once they are, both can be carried between worlds, providing their benefits, or rough equivalent if the source and destination are too dissimilar, to their possessor throughout the multiverse.
Worlds are both a physical location and a situation that can be taken advantage of. The round isn't over until said situation has been resolved.
Worlds are generated by me listening to submitted Songs for inspiration, then creating them. This means they can vary wildly in genre, tone, and just about any other attribute depending on just about everything.
Whoever is most pivotal in resolving the current world, in any manner, is generally the one to submit the Song for the next one.
Items
Items are physical objects that have some use. Anything can be an object in theory, but obviously some are far more useful than others.
Acquiring an object requires two things. One, the object must actually exist. In larger areas, sometimes "I search for X" actions can work; in other cases, wandering around looking for something isn't going to get you anywhere.
Two, acquiring an object requires a roll, even if it's just sitting there. High rolls means the object resonates well with you; poor ones mean something about its makeup doesn't mesh with yours.
Because of this, most objects are severely limited in use; they can be used a few times, after which they break or must be discarded. Objects acquired with higher rolls can sometimes be repaired by sacrificing a different object to do so. In extremely rare cases, an object may even be unlimited, never running out of uses or needing repairs. Note that this designation may apply to items that are normally limited-use or consumable as well.
Skills
Skills are persistent traits that grant a character some benefit. Skills may be learned from willing teachers, belligerent foes, or in some cases simply reckless experimentation. Like items, however, mastering a skill well enough that it sticks with you through Songshifts can be difficult.
Any time you roll a natural [5] or [6] when performing an appropriate action, you gain a point of experience in that skill. With one point of experience in a skill, you may activate that skill for a bonus once. With two points, you may activate it freely within that world.
At three experience points, the skill becomes permanent, and will remain with you through your Songshifts, though it may be subject to adjustments based on the local world's method of doing things.
Note that in all cases, experience points are granted only for relevant actions with a specific purpose. Flailing against walls or trees in an attempt to grind up skills will result only in wasted time.

The first characters to enter must also submit a Song, one of which will be randomly selected for the initial world. Later characters do not submit a Song at character creation.
I'll take six players to start, though there will of course be a waitlist.
