Is star ruler good? Is it CPU intensive?
Pretty good, not particulary cpu intensive, somewhat complex and twitchy. The AI plays really well, so don't be surprised if you keep losing to a second-easiest AI for quite a lot of time until you get used to the game.

Looking quite hard at Civ 4 for 75% off. Any thoughts?

I so wanted Red Alert 3 to be the community choice :( My wife and I are trying to find Coop RTS, and this seems to allow for coop campaign, which is amazing! Too bad people went for Civ 5.

$20 for Civ 4, Civ 5, and Stronghold.

Just in case you were looking for the other two as well.

Otherwise, I have nothing to say about the game, other than I've heard good things (and a few bad things from people that enjoyed Civ 2).

Thanks, but unfortunatly I'm in the UK and that doesn't work for me. Alright, I'll probably go for it. Thanks. :)

EDIT: Hmm, or not. Civ 4 combat seems ridiculous to me, I'll wait off for now.

Yes, but every civ game has ridiculous combat.

Civ 4 is the best in the series for me, although I've seen it for cheaper in retail already.

At least with Civ 4, you can gauge the odds before you attack. Also, Civ 4 is worth the price of admission just for the sheer number of mods there are out there for it (though if you're gonna do it, do it up right and get the full pack with Warlords and Beyond the Sword).

Set address to US? It's worked for several others, and since it's only a downloadable code, it'll be fine.

I also somehow got $5 off of that (I don't know how...), so it was $15 after all that.

Well, most of these flash sales are extremely disappointing. Here was I ready to empty my wallet with the steam sales, but with games like Sniper: Ghost Warrior on sale I think I won't be spending a whole lot of money.
