So has anyone bought any good discounted titles that are not part the flash/daily sales?

I picked up Cargo Commander (it's 75% off) and I have had a good bit of fun with it so far. I made a BAY12 sector and already someone from the forums has found it (and beat my highscore for the sector :p).

Cargo Commander on Gamer's Gate (activates on Steam).
0.44 British Pounds or 0.44 Euros (around 0.71 USD). Use the .co.uk site if you can't get the right price. I can confirm it works for my region (Oceania) if you use the UK URL.

Sorry Wiles, I was just writing this up when you posted. :(
I suppose it didn't cost you all that much more, less than a pint of beer to be sure.

EDIT: You can of course still use the "IAMANELDERGEEK" 5% coupon on the product if you deem it worthy.

My Sale-Fu is weak!

I guess I'll have to check other sale sites before I buy stuff.

Hee hee, I picked up RPG maker Vx to play with.

Also so far I've picked up Unmechanical and Y's Origin.

Annoying, nuCom is on a flash sale but no discount on the slingshot DLC. Well not getting that for a while then, as there is no way I'm paying £5.49 for the little in that DLC.

Unless its on Daily or Flash, always wait until the last day of the sale to jump on something. It's guaranteed it'll get reduced the day after you buy it. :D

Finally picked up Dead Island for $6. Watched a stream of it on Jef Major's stream a long while back and decided it looked fun but not worth a whole lot. So $6 seems about right.

So should I go ahead and buy Cortex Command, or should I hold out for a better price?

Hmm, I'm having a hard time making sure. Does the THQ bundle not include all the various DLC race packs and wargear for Dawn of War II and its expansions? It does include Chaos Rising and Retribution (true, they're standalone and not really expansions), so I would hope the race packs aren't necessary, but not sure about the others.

Soldamnit, finally managed to get free of Jade Empire after finishing it by putting it 18 hours on it in less than three days. Was on sale just before the holidays sales started, and if it goes on it again during it, I recommend getting it. Even at the current price it would have been worth it, but at 50%-75% it is definitely so.

But back on the current sales:

If you don't have it but have played any of the old Sim City games, get Sim City 4 on steam before it stops being on sale. It's very fun, considered by most to be the apex of the series.

And considering my gaming backlog I think I'll resist dishonored and X-Com for a few more months unless they get 75% off during this time (or maybe 50% for X-Com if my budget relaxes a bit).

It is considered the best of the Sim City series. Might also be the most complex, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, specially around this forum. :P I do recommend some mods, specially one that I forget the name to improve the transit system.

That said, I'm not entirely familiar with the many other city simulators that try to do something similar to Sim City, so I can't say if there's a better one out there.
