Does anyone have War of the Roses? What's the community like for it?

I was in the beta for it, and found it quite enjoyable, but nearly every standalone multiplayer-only game I've bought has wound up dead within a few months, and I don't buy another Ravaged and end up throwing my money down the drain.
I heard pretty much that it was Call of Duty with swords. So I think you can only assume that the community is terrible, and it's most likely pretty dead especially since that Chivalry game seemed to have gotten more attention.

I and a friend went with Chivalry: Medieval Warfare back during the fall sale.  I find it pretty entertaining and I am usually simply awful at multiplayer FPSeses.  There isn't a ton of community interaction, at least that I have had to deal with, but you get a decent amount of bitching because friendly-firemaiming does tend to happen.  If it goes on sale during the winter I can recommend that one, at least.

I played the beta version and it really just felt like a chunkier Mount and Blade. It does have a very "Call of Duty vibe" to it.

The problems I found with the game that made me quick it pretty quick.
There's a real lack of game-modes currently.
There's an execution and resuscitation mechanic, making players stick to groups and "ganking" enemies.
The game is extremely slow placed compared to other first person slashers.
Enemies can spawn in on their squad members meaning you can have people popping out of no-where and ganking you.
Class balance was a bit iffy, there was really no reason to pick lighter armours over heavy or to not pick crossbow over archer.
Regenerative health.
A bandage mechanic where if you're injured to have to heal before a timer. If you're trying to fight someone you'll have no chance to bandage yourself so all you can do is bleed out.
No throwing weapons or horse archery. I know this makes sense from the time period but it's a major step down from Mount and Blade.
There's obviously no single-player.

There were some decent things though. The coat of arms editor was fun albeit limited. There was a decent amount of customisation if you're into that. Also the actual combat engine was pretty well done, factoring in the shaft of the weapon and everything.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series is often a daily or flash sale at 75%. A basic rule of thumb with these event sales is to never buy anything below 75% off since it has a chance to come up for cheaper in a few days.

This. If it's not a daily sale or flash sale, wait until the last day. You'll kick yourself if your game becomes cheaper tomorrow.

Obviously, if there's a nasty little timer sitting next to the price, go ahead and buy before the timer hits 00:00.  ;)

This.  I bought two new releases last Holiday Sale for 33% off, thinking it was a deal, only to see them drop to 75% off within four hours.  $50 down the hole >.<

Chivalry is a better game.

Wargame EE is 75% off for the next 35 hours. Definatly worth a purchase if you want an more tactical RTS that involves logistics and tactics.

Eh sue me, its 3am. I cant write good descriptions.

I second this. The quality that this developer offers is top notch but they have released four FREE DLCs. You should find friends to play it online though.

I wasn't asking for peoples opinions on the game, I was asking if the servers are dead or not. I allready know I like the game and want it, as I've played the beta.

Oh well, fell asleep and it's not in a flash deal anymore, hopefully it'll pop back in at some point and I can grab it.

So Torchlight 2's in a flash sale, but only 50% off. I've been meaning to get a 4 pack so I can share with my homies, but I'm not sure whether to get it now or wait for it to go lower.

Things generally don't go lower than flash sales, unless maybe its a daily. Usually they're just the same price though.
