Honestly, I found the last Christmas event annoying. "Hey, complete achievements and get coupons for game discounts!" "But all the games are already discounted." The odds of you getting a gold coupon, or an actual game, were agonizingly low. And usually you just got coal, which could then be crafted into... well, probably another useless non-gold coupon.  >:(

The only event that I really appreciated was the Summer Sale from a couple of years ago. Earning achievements got you tickets; three tickets could be redeemed for little pieces of game DLC. You could see all the options, and could pick the ones you wanted - earning tickets felt like real progress towards something you wanted, even if that 'something' was a trivial piece of DLC or an in-game item. Besides, the Summer Shades look cool!

Is the Hitman collection (The three old ones) worth it? I enjoy stealthy FPS's, and have been thinking about getting it for a while now.

FYI the THQ bundle is $25 for a ton of great games. May or may not be a great deal if you already own some of them, but you could potentially save $187 versus buying them individually.

One more sale. One more missed opportunity for a treasure hunt. The Summer Camp Prize Booth was great and had almost no chance of exploitation, why couldn't something like that happen again : (

I love the little achievements in my games. Feels like I get more value to my Steam account. Also, I've bought considerably less games in these Vote-and-flash-sales things. I don't feel invested at all. I almost don't bother to see the daily sales.

The game coupons are terrible, I think everyone agrees. But I do kind of like the flash sales. I just hope that this year they don't keep repeating games in the dailies/flash sales over and over like they did last year.

Agreed. Although the only stuff I actually got was an alien shooter game (was fun, also the only game you could get) and a couple of Magicka DLC, I never played Magicka after that though :P

Seeing as it hasn't been mentioned yet, there's a large collection of indie games for 70$, very few bad games (Dear Esther) and some of them are quite recent, so if you don't have many of them it may be worth picking up. http://store.steampowered.com/sub/18804/
This is a great bundle, but most people who it's any use to already have many of the games.
For example, the bundle would be an excellent purchase for myself, as I have more than half of those games and probably payed more than $70 for them; but I already have more than half of the games.

Does anyone have War of the Roses? What's the community like for it?

I was in the beta for it, and found it quite enjoyable, but nearly every standalone multiplayer-only game I've bought has wound up dead within a few months, and I don't buy another Ravaged and end up throwing my money down the drain.

I heard pretty much that it was Call of Duty with swords. So I think you can only assume that the community is terrible, and it's most likely pretty dead especially since that Chivalry game seemed to have gotten more attention.

I am really tempted to buy Batman Arkham City GotY. One problem: GFWL and its 5 installs limit. Is that DRM still in place? If yes I will wait until it is removed.
