I have not made a single game purchase I regret all year. Thank you internet piracy!
(And I certainly do not regret buying Diablo 3! Woop!)

Do you mean Soul Edge?

I don't think Sould Blade was a game.

(I have and enjoyed Soul Edge, but honestly #3 was the peak of the series for me. I loved how the characters handled.)

Same game different name.

Amnesia - Can't bring myself to play it for 20 minutes without exiting the game in fear every time I feel endangered (all the time).

The worst part is that I knew I wouldn't be able to handle it. I'm a scaredy cat  :-\

Starcraft II-
Hate competitive RTS and Blizzard, so I really have no idea why I bought this. Now my account is floating around among some friends who like it and haven't bought it.

Left4Dead-
I found the shooting much less enjoyable than Killing Floor, and everything else about it pretty lackluster. Same goes for the second one, though that wasn't necessarily "bought".

FTL-
It was fun, it had good character, but it lacked any real depth. The choices were limited and got stale pretty quickly, and the replayability was entirely based on grinding through systems for a random chance at the new ship events. I did appreciate that it was willing to kick the player's ass with the final boss, and the inclusion of permadeath was good, but it can hardly be called a rougelike-like, even. Maybe a light-rougelike-like-like. Like.

I personally found it quite boring. The "story" is completely archetyped, and I didn't really felt the ambiance.

Warlock: Master of the Arcane.

While this game isn't exactly bad, it's not really a game that I found enjoyable in the long run. At it's best it's a mediocre rendition of Master of Magic missing a lot of its original diversity tacked onto Civilization V's basic mechanics. Never really held my attention for too long.

I thought the campaign was pretty good for what it was. SCII sucks on the multiplayer front imo because the games are so small... and how the game punishes team play by making zerg creep screw up your terran ally, etc. I prefer the 8v8 carnage that TA:Spring brings. Yet when Heart of the Swarm comes out I'll still be queueing for it like a lil bich :<

You have to play it at night with all the lights off.

Eh, the campaign was alright. It seemed kind of generic, like something that would be found in a recent action movie or high budget shooter. Too many bulgy spacemen fighting other bulgy spacemen. I could definitely see that a lot of effort was put into it, though, and some of the little touches were interesting.

I've only played a few RTS games, and the only one I really enjoyed was Age of Mythology, for some reason. The generated single player matches still strike an itch from time to time, though I'm too bad at it to play at a reasonably high difficulty.

This is sort of a half and half because I don't EXACTLY regret buying the game but I regret what I've been taught

I recently bought Jade Empire a Bioware game

I have played Dragon Age, Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic, and now Jade Empire and I noticed something

Bioware is extremely formulaic to the point where I could tell that they made a game no matter what setting it is in. There is a lot of magic that is lost when you kinda learn how they structure their RPGs.

Here is generally how it works

Something happens, party member gives introspection and how it applies to them in a very long stilted dialog spoken in a monotone.

That isn't Bioware, that's most RPGs games...

All movies are the same, stuff happens, characters react.

All movies are the same, stuff happens, characters react.

It is just how they do it rather then the fact that they do it.

For example Persona 4 had retrospective from characters on the current situation too.

Yet I could tell if Bioware made those scenes because they stick to a very strict formula on how characters act and react.
