"Mind if I borrow it after you?" Asked thingy.
"Perhaps." B'mer says, flipping a page.
----------
Skhasha spins around, quickly looking forward. Dirus the goblin catches your eye. He bears his sword, and is in a combat stance.
"Fucking spider bitch," He says. "Thinking you can fucking shoot webs like it's nothing, and being an arachnid bitch." He says, pointing his sword towards you.
"I challenge you to a duel! Goblin style!" He yells.

----------

CONTENTS OF HISTORY BOOK:

A historical briefing of Murnis

Murnis was settled by Irashians from the western country of Irashia. The head of the expedition, Robert Murnis, lead the settlers -- known as the "Seven Founders" east through the Slate Valley, and through the Irashia Desert. When they arrived, they were greeted by a
n array of pure beauty, where the current town of Murnis now rests, at the coast of the Sea of Correlation. They began to construct the new settlement.

Eventually, in a few years, the settlement was self-sufficient after the hard labor of the Seven Founders. The new settlement included a cafeteria, houses, courthouse, city hall, lighthouse, and a wizard's tower whom belonged to one of the Seven Founders, Gulingus Furram, a wizard of many talents.

Murnis was aliased "The center of science" as a wave of innovation and technological advancements take the town by storm. They say the dream of some of the inventors in the town was to reach the stars above, and explore the outer space. And so the people continued to innovate new things. In fact, numerous innovations such as rocket fuel and new types of rocket engines were developed in Murnis, as well as the handheld watch. However, some say that Murnis dabbled in Aerospace science too early, as they still desperately attempt to reach space.

The rest of the book is damaged, making it unable to be read.

Smashy climbs onto the boat. "I wonder if I can find stuff to burn here..."

Explore the boat

Attempt to locate paper and ink. If successful, attempt to reconstruct the remainder of the book.

Shkasha tilted her head, bending far enough to let it almost hang upside down.
"Eh? 'Goblin style'? Whassat?" She asks,
"A duel between two foes to determine dominance, usually with a wager to go along with it. In the southern goblin settlements, the wager was one's life, but for this particular duel, I will go easy on you." He says.

"If I win, you leave this place at once and never return." He says.
"Now, what are your sides of the wager..?" He demands.

--------
"I wonder if I can find stuff to burn here..." Smashy says, looking around the boat. There's plenty to burn, mostly because the whole boat is made out of wood. You stumble upon a few dusty bags, and upon clearing them you find an ♦Unidentified Amulet♦. It glows with a purple aura, and has a single red gem in the center of the silver circle surrounding it, along with chains of what appear to be iron.
---------
Meanwhile, B'mer looks around for paper and ink. He eventually locates some on what appears to be the captain's desk. You place the book down and the paper, and attempt to reconstruct the missing parts of the book. You manage to successfully reconstruct some parts that aren't as damaged, and you read it;

Magic has also been a growing foundation in Murnis. Wizards gather at the wizard tower to research new magics. However, after the Battle of the Forlorn Hopes, the town stopped attracting the attention of wizards, as dark aura left from the battle in X415 seemed to inhibit a negative effect on magic in the town.

The Battle of the Forlorn Hopes was a struggle between the wizards of Murnis and the alchemists of the northern town of Faosal. Many reasons started the battle, such as land disputes and the argument of different power. Alchemy and Magic were very much different to the wizards of Murnis, as Murnis believed that magic was more powerful than any alchemy could hope to create. Wizards use magic by transforming energy surrounding them into magic energy, which can be manipulated by the user as they see please. Alchemists use the scientific properties of matter. Alchemists rearranged matter in a specific way through the deconstruction and then reconstruction of matter. The alchemists were able to transmute matter into different forms, however they were bound by only being able to transmute simpler substances into more complex substances and vice-versa. They could not transmute an element directly to another, which is why many alchemists researched the science for many generations, so they could perform what modern alchemists call "nuclear transmutation".

However, nuclear transmutation was an extremely difficult task, as it required the precise arrangements of particles, and could not be controlled. However, alchemists sought to obtain the Philosopher's stone, an artifact that was said to be able to enhance an alchemist's alchemical power, and more precisely perform nuclear fission or fusion to transmute elements. However, such a thing has never been obtained, but the alchemists have gathered evidence of it's existence. The alchemists thought that magic could aid them, so they traveled south to Murnis to research magic for themselves. However, conflict quickly broke out as the wizar--

That was all you were able to reconstruct.

B'Mer used the ink and paper to make a copy of all the legible and reconstructed pages, adding a 'd[s?]' to the end of that last word and a note that further pages were unrecoverable.

Then, he went to Thingy.
"You wanted to borrow the book?"

Thingie takes the book if it is offered, then goes and takes a look at the commotion.
