Check the boat to make sure it in working order

"Hey Smashy, whats that you got? A book?" Thingie asks.
"Um...yay?" B'mer says. He examines the cold area, the liquid air seems to be boiling back to gas.
"That seems cold. Who screwed with the bows settings?" Thingie says.
"Smashy no like books. Prefers to think of it as Kindling." Smashy says, next to his crate of solid rocket fuel.
"Can I have it? I may have some nice tinder in the box for a trade." Thingie asks Smashy.
"Not cool, bub. Books are for reading. Leaves and twigs and maybe enemies are for burning." B'mer says.
B'mer notices that his bow isn't emitting any magic power.

"MAYBE enemies? What do you do with the corpses the rest of the time? Hell, the best defense is a long, dark cave with fire." Thingie says.
Smashy snaps his fingers, looking towards the dead corpses. "OH! Thats what Smashy Forgot to do!"
Smashy butchers and cooks a guard with the fire axe! Smashy obtains 3 Cooked Human Meat

"Can I have the book or no?" Thingie says.
"No. Books are for the literate only." B'mer responds.
"I can read. Jeaze, what sort of uncultured uncooth creature do you think I am?" Thingie snaps

Meanwhile, Zack looks towards the boat and examines it. The boat seems fine, just cold to the touch.
Skhasha studies the cold aswell. All the liquid air turned back to gas and it's heating back up again.

"Be more careful B'mer, Jesus." Dirus adds.
"Magic discharges are very dangerous, I wouldn't do that anymore. It probably happened because the bow hasn't been used for a while and it's magic is old." Morina says.

And now, a brief lesson on magic.

A magic discharge is when all of the magic energy from an enchanted object is used all in one single use. They are categorized in two categories: Intended Magic Discharges and Unintended Magic Discharges.
An unintended discharge occurs usually when a magic item is used for the first time after a large period of dormance, and can take it's users by surprise.
An intended discharge is like it's unintended counterpart, but it can be controlled. Skilled magic users are able to intentionally discharge their magic items into a controlled fashion.

Magic Discharges are extremely dangerous, especially for enchanted items that aren't directed on a specific target (Such as an arrow),
and can potentially ruin the item's enchantment. If the enchantment is not destroyed, then the item must be recharged depending on it's charge type.
Enchantments can have different charge types, such as an enchantment that recharges by absorbing magic from the atmosphere. Some items are one-use only and are useless when it's magic is depleted. Some enchantments have other recharging effects.

There are certain people that possess the ability to utilize magic through-out their bodies. Every living thing has magic inside of them, however only a select number are able to contain large amounts. Mages usually train their minds and body so that their body naturally absorbs magic energy, and then learn to control it. There are many different styles of magic, which are categorized into two categories; Caster Magic and Holder Magic. Caster mages cast magic directly from their bodies. Holder type mages create or use special magic items that require the user's magic energy.

Skilled mages are able to imbue an object with magic energy for a specific purpose. This is called enchanting. There are two ways an object can be enchanted. The mage can enchant an object with their own magic reserves, or use a magic crystal, the pure solid form of magic.

The Ogre looks around. His friends seem to want the book, and it was so small it wasn't realy all that useful as Kindling... "Smashy will give the Kindling to Thingy. But thingy owes Smashy a favor."

Smashy spends a few seconds counting on his fingers, as if confirming that two is indeed a bigger number than one...

"Okay. Deal."

Smashy hands over the book to the Kobold.

"Thank you."
B'Mer locates a cozy, well-lit, and safe location to read the book, then reads it.

B'mer checks to see if the bow still has charge. He can't find a way to detect it's magic.

"Smashy will give the Kindling to Thingy. But thingy owes Smashy a favor."
"It is not kindling. And I will buy the book for two favors." B'mer says.
"Okay. Deal." Smashy says, handing the book over to B'mer.
"Thank you." B'mer says, walking inside the ship. He then sits down on a barrel and begins to read the book.

Thingie snaps out of his daydream.
"What? when? err... What happened?"
Thingie is looking seriously confused and quite dejected.

"I out-bid you. Capitalism at its finest!" B'mer says from inside the ship.
"Yes, but the way you did it." Thingie says.

Skhasha scurries to the control room.
The control seems pretty basic. Just a steering wheel, a few levers and knobs, and a red button labeled "TBSC".
There doesn't seem to be some kind of instruction manual, but the controls seem straightforward. Wheel steers the ship, and levers make the ship go and stop. But the TBSC is painted red, which means you shouldn't press it.
You sense a presence behind you.
