Joined up as Lightningfalcon (Still have no idea where I originally got that name from).  I clicked on the 'Join' button for Fist of Armok.  Anything else I have to do/Should do in the meantime?  I'm currently looting a college campus that other people are apparently at.

Actually most of the people here explicitly wanted chaos and tragedy. So. Uh.

Just go through the college campus missions to get XP, loot, money. Make sure you buy an army bag at the campus supply store to increase how much stuff you can carry. Once the clan leader gets on, they'll accept your invite and you can come help us construct stuff at the safehouse.

Anyone want to set up an IRC chat room and post a link (I've used Mibbit before)?

The lack of chat functionality (or really any clan communication) boggles my mind. Supposedly they had a chat function before but the devs yanked it because they're working on making it better. FAIL.

Already found an army bag.  I think.
Anything special I should look for?  And what skills should I concentrate on for now?

I recomment agility and then marksmanship. Agility makes it easier to run away (Which you will be doing, a lot). Markmanship makes it so you use fewer boolets. Throw a few points in Constitution, as you can't train it.

Remember to use the "Start new Activity" button to start training your stats, even without levels and at no cost to SP!

Do the missions, the first few should net you a shotgun to backup your snubnose. For your money, I suggest saving up 3.5k-ish to purchase a Varmint rifle at 23,29 (or was it 29,23?).

Don't bother fighting zombies, at the beginning it's generally a waste of SP/Money and you're better off questing.

Joined up as Brent Spiner. Did one campus mission and went straight for the safehouse. I'm assisting in the construction of the generator. Am I doing it right?

Not sure as I just started playing yesterday. I saw that you can't train constitution via the "Start new task" menu so I dumped a bunch of points in there to raise my HP. I also focused on marksmanship because it seems like you mostly start at range against mobs you fight.

Might as well burn through your SP doing missions and then do construction when you can't do anything else IMO. :)

I've just been making do with a children's backpack I borrowed from a zombie child.
Thinking about it, it must be pretty funny to see a guy going around with a pistol, survival trousers and a survival jacket, with a balaclava over his face; but carrying around a backpack he took from a little girl's double-dead body.

Do we currently have storage at boatmurdered? Because, I've got some stuff to keep.

It's being upgraded. So you can't access it.

I'm in. Somebody stole my fucking name, so I'm now known as Skraeling. Sent a request; figuring shit out currently. UI isn't amazing, but it's no DF, either.

A million times this.  You're actually supposed to avoid combat as much as possible.  Unlike most games, this one actually rewards you just as equally XP-wise for exploring and combat.  Also, if you have combat in an area, you're blocked from scavenging it unless you kill everything.  If I see a skull on an arrow, I literally go around it until I find a path that is clear.  Once you've explored enough, you can fast travel to those locations in the future, helping you *really* avoid combat.

I made it to level 10, killing the tutorial zombie and two rats.

Yeah, sorry about that. :( I didn't realize that you can't use the room while it's being upgraded (or really, just gathering mats to _start_ construction on it).

No need to be sorry, it's a big design oversight in the game. Not sure about anyone else, but I put in a bug report for that.
