Caravans and cannons
« on: December 14, 2012, 12:41:42 pm »

Recently while messing with water cannons I decided to fire mine at a caravan. To my astonishment when A blob of water hit a wagon the wagon vanished, entirely. Unfortunately I didn't see it was going to happen before it did, and my water cannon is too weak to replicate it reliably.
Has anybody else noticed something like this?

Yes; when wagons "die" (they're currently a sort of creature) they are "scuttled" or completely destroyed. They visibly appear to vanish, and the only thing left of them will be a log.

Wagons are technically creature if i am not mistaken, so you probably did enough damage to it to kill it

Hmm, so wait, could you lower the velocity of the water exiting a cannon to find the exact amount of damage it takes to kill a wagon?

Well, do we have any way to actually measure an object's velocity, and calculate the damage it deals to a creature (wagon) using that?

Wagons can't take much of a hit, anyway. If a kobold kicked them in the wheel, they'd probably fall apart.

Hmm, so you're saying that most impacts will kill a caravan. I cant think of anyway to calculate damage, but we can finely tune mass and speed.
Undead are 'killed' after a certain amount of damage, if we knew how much that took we could calculate the damage water cannons do.
