Fortress Challenge Warehouse
« on: December 14, 2012, 12:28:14 pm »

We've got just the challenge that you're looking for. Come on in and take a look.  Every challenge comes with the free goal of survival. All our challenges are pure Dwarf Fortress made, they're as vanilla as they come. If you succeed in the challenge please inform management and we can add you to the victors board! If you have any questions or problems please seek out our helpful staff, and be sure to check back often for new challenges, and of course no cheating please.

Anvilhope - It requires wandering through The Teal Forests and The Uncertain Hills to find a beautiful waterfall. Here our group of dwarfs are in short supply. All they seem to have is their skills, an anvil, and a copper nugget!
Goal: Craft a copper axe and pick. Set up 7 rooms with bed, cabinet, coffer, and door. Obtain: wood [25], fish [25], drink [100]. Time Limit (1/2 year)
Level: Adequate [0.34.11]

Wildclings - Bring your boots we're going to the coldest parts! The wild dwarfs have revolted against the Mountainhome in order to be free dwarfs. Of course this means being exiled to the coldest reaches of the dwarven empire.
Goal: Break through the 2 level aquifer. Set-up an ice wall 20 stones worth or larger. Obtain: wood [100], fish [50], drink [100]. Time Limit (1 year)
Level: Expert [0.34.11]

Awesome, screen shots and the likes. Maybe any ups and downs your fort had. How you completed the challenge, and others can share their ways and blah blah blah. I'll add you to the victors board once I see your evidence, and now you have a fun little fortress to play with until the next challenge. Some will be easy like this, some will be hard, so stay tuned.

Did you know you can build smelter with a charcoal bar?
Actually this conditions should have been met by the end of the spring, but the numbers of plants and wood kept fluctuating right below the targeted value.
You can find rope-reeds to make bags for seeds at the western edge of the map.

ice statues [10].
No dice here:

The rest is doable, though. At a later time.

You could build 10 Ice walls as solo pillars and call them Raw Ice Sculptures.

Well done Kalemyr Skyfire!
For some it's easy, and for others it would be difficult.
Depending on your skill level of course.

No, it's easy. When you expose it, it freezes, and then you dig through it like it was rock.

lol I'm aware of how to do it, but there are others that do not.
If you dig same spot it turns to water then ice again.
