You've collected various foods and plants:

Whispervine- A light brown-grey root that grows on cliffsides. You know nothing about it.
Blue Fern- A large fern with a strange blue coloration. It gave off a sweet scent, and you saw some of the rabbits munch it.
Spear-stalk- A large, green plant that grows straight and tall. You've heard of it being consumable, but otherwise, you don't know anything about it.

You munch on the rabbit, using the blue fern as a seasoning.

The food fills you well, the fern and rabbit going well together. The fern tasted slightly bitter, but not too bad to eat.
Getting your things together, you start to feel strangely warm. Sitting down for a moment, you try to figure out what's happening. It wasn't exactly a fever, but you did feel rather hot. You found your senses to be somewhat... better, especially that of touch. Taking out your journal, you label the blue fern as "warning-aphrodisiac. Possible use in sense-enhancing drugs."

You wait a while for the effects of the fern to die down, while trying to figure out what your other plants will do.
4 You do figure out a little more about the spear-stalk, in that it's very useful in healing salve. It can be ground very easily into a paste and feels very good on the skin- even more so with the blue fern in your system.

You start to feel less hot after a while, but you still momentarily have better senses. You identify gunfire again, and head out of your cave with your M1911 and supplies barring firewood.

36
It takes a while, and you figure you've burnt a good amount of time, but you come across a dirt road. Parked near an empty tent, there's a 4-wheel ATV with keys still in the ignition. Searching around, you find the previous owner- give or take a few holes.

Taking a moment to respect... whoever it was, you find some sticks and tie together a makeshift cross.

Grabbing some extra fuel from the encampment as well as the tent, you drive the ATV back to your "home". The tent is easy to carry along on the ATV, and the fuel will keep it going for a good long while. The ATV is about the biggest thing you can manage to drive up to your house.

Time passes, and you hear another motor in the distance. It seems to be getting closer for a while, then it stops. You think you hear voices, and take your M1911 out yet again, topping the magazine off.

You bide your time, warm by the embers of your fire. It's the afternoon and nearly dark, your military instinct kicking in. If someone was after you, now would be the time...

After a while, the motor from earlier kicks up again and you relax. There's definitely life here, and it's hostile. This, you're sure of.

hmmm, that cutthroat Navy gungho attitude? :P (maybe he'll fix a gasket on them, or paint their vehicle, or sing a perverted song in cadence, or tie a knot in their lines)

Examine surrounding area, plan simple traps for defense/hunting.

You start thinking of traps you could make. Pits would work if you had a shovel... You're severely lacking in ideas, having never really seen combat. Once or twice, you've been in a hot zone, but... You were inexperienced at this kind of thing. You figure you could at least make some sort of net with enough rope...

Examine
Best Roll: 5
Rolls: 2,2,5

You find a large patch of whispervine, and cut 9 units of it free before deciding you've had enough. You find behind it yet another small cave, this one seemingly natural. Inside are some form of mushroom, none you identify as poisonous but then again you don't know mushrooms all that well. You grab a couple of cream-colored ones and leave.

Returning home, you find you've still got enough water for the next day and don't need to eat. Night approaches, so you stock your fire as well as you can before sliding into your sleeping bag. It's a bit too warm, but not enough to make you sweat.

...

In the morning, you find embers still going in the fireplace. Getting up, you don't notice anything unusual, and start to get up.
You hear something moving through the forest, however, and stand against a wall, M1911 at the ready.

You see people, wearing light clothing with a mostly "red" color scheme, most carrying AK-47s. You see one with a much larger gun, and some have some type of SMG. There's four in total, and they're getting closer. Before you can act, one spots you, and calls to the others. Looks like you have to fight...

Hit the deck, firing on them, starting with the guy with a big gun.

Don't fight! They might be friendly!

Holster your pistol and tell them you mean no harm.

You consider if they're friendly or not, up until bullets narrowly miss your arm.

Ducking low, you find meager cover and blindly return fire with your M1911.

Combat Roll 1: 5
You hear screams of pain from at least two people before hearing more loud gunfire. You'd like to know who you hit, but can't get over your cover to see.

Combat Roll 2: 3
Before you can fire again, you feel hands grab at you, ripping away your gun and going for your throat. You try to get your knife, but are stopped by the second uninjured man. He pries the blade away painfully before you see a bright flash followed by darkness.

...

......

You slowly come to, darkness surrounding you as well as wooden bars. It would seem you were in a cage of sorts, with your arms tied above you forcing you into a very vulnerable position. One of the people from earlier, or at least someone dressed similarly, notices you and walks over to you.

"You put up quite a fight, outsider. Too bad your fighting days are over... You'll fetch a nice price on the market, however we sell ya'. Stay quiet, or I'll have to make your life a whole lot worse."
He pointed a machete through the bars, as if to make his point.
"Got it? Good."

He then turned his back and sat down. You furiously tugged at your restraints, and slipped a hand free. Getting the other loose, you checked over yourself- finding a small, 2.5 inch blade tucked inside of your clothes. You began to cut at the tied-closed door, finally getting through it. Sneaking to the lazy guard, you got behind him and reached around with your knife- stopping him from screaming as you cut his throat. Stealing his AK-47, you try and figure out a way to escape.

SUGGESTIONS

Sneak out along the edges of the encampment, staying as quiet as possible

Sneak out quietly, but go loud if you're spotted instead of fleeing

Disguise yourself and escape without attracting too much attention

Disguise yourself and kill silently, blazing a trail through the enemy

Kill quietly until detected, attempt to take what resources are in the facility

-bolded options are reccommended

If skin tone matches closely enough, take his clothes, wear them. Walk out. If it doesn't, sneak out.
