Would anyone be interested in playing PDQ: Ninja Burger? For those unaware PDQ (aka Prose Descriptive Qualities) is a rules light system wherein you design a character by assigning them a number of qualities, ranging from Poor [-2] to Master [+6]. The core ruleset is here for free.

Our specific game shall take place in a fusion between the Snow Crash and the Ninja Burger* settings, wherein each of the player characters take the role of a member of a noble sect of fast food delivery ninjas to race against time to bring hot delicious burgers across corporate lines, evading sky pirates, franchise samurai, mafia deliverators and other evil-doers in order to make their appointed delivery in 30 minutes or less.

*I will neither be using nor requiring the official Ninja Burger rules. While the setting concept is pretty cool, the actual rules they came up with were sorta lame. Also, I like Neal Stephenson stuff.


SURVIVING CAST:

Name: The casting cook.
Appearance: Small and lanky, wears a full-body ninja uniform and a zebra mask.
Qualities:
Physical: "Edible projectiles." Good [+2], "The floor is the enemy" Good [+2], "Light as a feather" Poor [-2]

Social: "What's that shiny distraction!?" Expert [+4]
Professional: "Long-distance cook" Expert [+4]{only applicable when attempting to create a desirable food product}.
Favorite Burger: The Stale Star Slab. A star-shaped slab of meat in a star-shaped bun, left to solidify, it can put a hole through a brick wall...
Background: They have long since forgotten their youth, in which they were kidnapped by burger ninjas who saw promise in the child's culinary throwing ability. They have know only years of strict burger ninja training, dedicated to the arts of misdirection and food assemblage. Their masterpiece was a burger constructed without ever being within a dozen paces of the finished product.

Name: Milainai Sedalia
Appearance: A pleasant young woman of indeterminate descent, with long black hair, brown eyes that look slightly Asian, and pale skin. She tends to dress in a risque manner that still manages to be perfectly within the bounds of polite society.

Background: Formerly a mercenary of little repute but good skill, Milly tired of being on her own and sought a group to work with... and the group that eventually headhunted her were fast food ninja. She first met their invitation with confusion, then laughter, but decided to accept on the basis of 'this is too crazy to be true, and if it is true, how can I pass it up?' She's been working with them for a few years now and is quite happy with her job.

Background: Barry was a simple bike enthusiast when a body dropped out of the sky. It had a packet with an address. Being the good guy he is drop off the packet. A week later he got a letter saying he now work as a fast food delivery ninja. XP: 2

Name: Guy Horse
Appearance: Guy wears a horse head mask at all times, and a suit during business hours, while not working, he wears black pants and a white t-shirt. Various suits he wore during old jobs retain the bullet holes he received at the time, with bullet holes to match each of them. Guy retains a cool, level head at all times, and never seems to raise his voice further than is necessary to be clearly heard.
Qualities:
     Physical: [+6] Knife combat
     Mental: [+2] "On the fly problem solving"
     Social: [+2] "Great with kids"
     Professional: [+2] "I'll finish any job"
     Other: [-2] "No sense of direction"
Favorite Burger: Two fresh patties grilled until done placed over three slices of lettuce over a light dab of mayo, topped with three bacon slices, caramelized onions, pickles, and mustard on a sesame seed bun.
Background: Horse is an ex-cop gone rogue. He worked his days as a hired killer, going from country to country taking out targets for both the government and the mafia. During an exceptionally dangerous mission, he was forced to flee to the rainforests, where he stumbled upon an abandoned shrine. There, a tattered journal and horse head mask lay open for any to take. As he finished reading the journal, an unknown assailant knocked him unconscious, and took him to an unknown base while he was still sleeping. When Guy awoke, the horse mask was already on him, and the leader of his kidnappers convinced him to join their clan. Guy knew he was dead whether or not he agreed, so he took the option that gave him money. And since then, the mask has become a permanent part of his identity.

Name: Antidone Yuusha (Hero)
Appearance: A somewhat tall man, but not tall enough to be intimidating. He has forehead length brown hair, which he meticulously cares for in order to ensure his physical beauty. He has a white undershirt layered beneath a leather gunslinger jacket.
Qualities:
[+4] Worming out of tight spots, persuasion, the usual: Charm "And that, good people, is how I became the King of England."
[+4] Precision: Gunplay "Bang! Bang! Bang!"
[+2] Instincts/Improvising: "No plan? No chance? No problem."
[+4] Climbing, Agility: "You mean most people can't leap from wall to wall?"
[-2] Resisting/Fighting Women: Womanizing: "So, what's the delivery? Does it involve seducing nubile young maidens? Just dropping off burgers? Again?"
[-2] Doesn't like handing off responsibility, accepting his flaws, or accepting insults: Egotistic: "Pfft. You think you can take me on?"
Favorite Burger: Twin sesame seed buns, both toasted to perfection, one atop crisp, savory bacon. Beneath the strips of bacon lies a moist lettuce leaf, which rests above a single, though thick, slice of melted american cheese. The cheese has melted onto one of two patties, both of which have been grilled. Upon the patties, the grill marks lay as parallel promises of culinary rapture. Beneath that is the second bun.
Background: Antidone's parents were taken from him at a young age to establish his Dark Past ^TM. From there, he was passed from home to home, letting him establish many, many relationships, but none of any depth. Once he came of age, he began to train. Using his funds to purchase a handgun, he left to just outside the city, going under the tutelage of a veteran marksman. From the marksman, he learned improvisation, marksmanship, and how to care for a gun. However he did not learn self-control or how to deal with his Dark Past ^TM. Sadly, there wasn't much demand for a slightly emo warrior in his land, so he became a burger delivery man.

It seems there is definitely enough interest for a game, so start posting your character sheets. What I need from you is:

Qualities: You get five of them, one at Expert [+4], three at Good [+2] and one at Poor [-2]. You can optionally take an extra Poor quality to make one of your Good qualities Expert instead.

Appearance: An older man in his mid fifties, Buck's short hair is still mostly brown although there are gray streaks (mostly at the temples). His eyes are blue and he stands at six feet, two hundred pounds.

Background: In his youth, Buck was an amateur boxer. He eventually broke into the pro scene and over the course of twenty-five years fought fifty-eight professional matches without a single loss, winning fifty-seven by way of KO. His fifty-eighth and final match he fought at the age of fifty-three, and he realized he was too old to remain in the game when he couldn't knock out his opponent... and said opponent was knocking him down once every other round. He managed to win on a blood stoppage and retired, leaving the light heavyweight title vacant, and decided to find a new career - he didn't want to retire just yet.

A friend of his who was a fast food ninja suggested that, since his skills were still fairly sharp, he should try doing that instead. For the past two years Buck has trained to be a fast food ninja, and now he's ready to start a new life...
