Towns:1. Kettelplow: A violent, primitive, and superstitious settlement, even by supernatural standards. They often launch raids upon the other big island settlements, but their swampy surroundings make their neighbors think twice about counterattacking. The ‘arena’ here is redrawn from the swamp for each fight, so gladiators almost never know what to expect.
2. Blubberfront: A seaside town where activity follows the large marine animals they hunt. Trains full of meat from the sea depart from here to feed the rest of the civilized towns on the big island. The population is rather small and laws against immigration and even tourism abound. Blubberfront doesn't want to become a giant slum like the other towns along the tracks. This town has no arena, but often hosts gladiatorial fights on ships or docks in the harbor.
3. The Capitol: A large city, forever hidden under the black smog from it’s many factories. The endless slums are only broken up by the main train tracks crossing through the system, bringing in the most needed supplies. Along the city tower many warehouses, storing the ore and coal delivered from the river upstream. The arena is one of the largest and the most prestigious of all, but the cities nobles are known to support their own champions, even if it means rigging the game. The games are observed by most of the populace, and the exotic animals caught in the jungle upstream are a marvelous sight to behold.
4. The Western End: This town is the last stop on the intercontinental railroad. For many people this means the end of their journey, though a few continue from here towards the other island.
Most of the town is build on the half buried remains of an old military base, as evidenced by the airstrip and labratories which have recently been uncovered. Searching for artefacts is a dangerous occupation, but a good find can leave one so rich, that he never has to worries about his problems again.. Law enforcement here is strong. Disputes are settled with public duels, either by sword or by gun. As such, there’s no real gladiatior movement here. Fights are often 1v1, though larger battles happen at special occasions.
5. Sandash: Less a town or city than a sea of tents and shacks. Sandash is home to bandits, raiders, exiles, and others unwelcome elsewhere on the island. Settlements like Sandash rise every so often and only last as long as they can stay off the radar of civilization. This camp has existed for years, and many nobles in larger cities are already calling for its destruction. Fights here are held between circled wagons and tents and often feature the terrifying beasts of the desert feasting on those unlucky enough to be assigned to fight them.
6. Pyrobolum: This small mountain town is focused primarily on it’s mines. With a population composed mainly of labourers, and constant harsh conditions, especially when a supply cargo is lost to the Jungle it’s not surprising that the town is a lawless place. As long as the quota are met, it’s allowed to govern itself. The town doesn’t have any significant infrastructure, but often fights are held in abandoned mine shafts and quarries.
7. Elesia: This mediocre sized town is mostly self substituent, living from agriculture and what they can make for themselves. As places to live go this actually a fairly good choice, thanks to the cities benevolent technocratic regime. Power is cheap, as it’s in plentiful supply thanks to the giant hydroelectric plant that dominates the valley. Social status is determined by how close on lives to the power plant, with the technocrats living completely on top. As such, all arenas are constructed on the river side or even on the dam, hanging over each other and over perilous abbys. While a clever fighter could jump from arena to arena, one misstep and you’d splatter on the ground below..
8. Los Tokyolondon: A strange town set on the edge of an ancient abandoned urban sprawl. The people here obsessively worship the civilization and city that came before. They settlement sustains itself by fishing and selling trinkets looted from the forgotten city. Law enforcement is combined with religion here; heathens are not allowed into the ruins unescorted under penalty of death. Fights often take place on the roof of a long forgotten skyscraper that the locals worship as god.
9. Plagueborough: This desolate frozen town serves as a sanctuary for those too mutated to fit into any other society. The locals struggle to eek out a living by fishing and whaling. The settlement is said to be a peaceful and nurturing place, but outsiders only ever see the fierce anti-human attitude that hangs over the place. There is little law enforcement or interest in gladiator games here, but they will every so often indulge in tearing to shreds a group of uppity humans looking to prove themselves in combat.
10. Hub City: The port and airfield associated with this island city-state brings in tourists and settlers from other regions of the scorched earth. Commerce is huge and arena fights are huger! The wealthy from all over come to see the fights that the region is famous for, and not all of them wish to venture into the dangerous wilds to reach one of the other towns where they take place. Fights run almost constantly in the main state run arena, and several private rings are kept quite busy as well.
