Amnesia fortnight bundle
« on: December 12, 2012, 06:14:52 am »

Wow I'm surprised there are no topics for the amnesia fortnight bundle by double fine.

Basically double fine drop everything they are doing and get to work making several different prototypes to get the creative juices flowing and have fun making something they want to make, they have 2 weeks to make the chosen games. These prototypes also have the chance of becoming full games.

There were 23 protos in total but this got cut down to 5

1) hack and slash:
A young elf uses her hacking skills to cheat her way through a classic action adventure.

2) space base:
Build a space base where aliens can live and work, and watch interesting stories emerge from their simulated lives.

3) autonomous:
Lost in a new-wave futuristic junk yard world, you must build self-directed automatons from found primitives to both explore and survive the hazardous environment.

4) The white birch:
The White Birch is an ambient platform game (in the style of Ico or Journey) in which a young girl climbs a tower to escape a dark, hazardous forest.

5) black lake:
In Black Lake you track animals trough a folk tale forest and purge evil from their dreams which have spilled out into the world.

There are 9 days to go left for the bundle.... But the prototype development time finished yesterday.

Also did I mention the prototypes are out on steam?! go spend your money's!

EDIT: now with better descriptions!

So, if I contribute now, do I get the ones that are still marked as "upcoming" when they are completed?

There comes a time when you must take off the soft, furry slippers of a boy and put on the shoes of a man.
Unless of course they don't fit properly and your feet blister up like bubble wrap.
Oh ho ho, but don't try to return the shoes, because they won't take them back once you've worn them.
Especially if that fat pig Tony is at the desk.

I'm having a hard time logging into Steam. I think this may have something to do with it. I love all the prototype ideas, and their concept works.

Hack & Slash sounds like something I've done with plenty of SNES games after I beat them. Like giving Link the ultimate equipment at the start of the game and such (Silver arrows after collecting the bow and arrows in the 1st dungeon anyone?). Along with several other hacks like unlimited bombs and so forth in other games through keeping an eye on changing values and such; especially when such cheats weren't available to find on Gamefaqs and similar. Helped me learn the ropes of Cheat Device quicker.

They are playing it in the live stream. That's what "live" stand for.

And it's already nearly a full game.
