The Dark Continent is an alternate history scenario for EU3 included in the miscmods pack where Europe has been entirely depopulated by the Black Plauge, giving other nations a chance to explore, colonize and conquer the world. Note: I have never played this scenario before, although I have played a lot of EU3 so this will be a semi-blind LP. Now I'm going to let you guys vote on the country, here's three, each with a little intro...

The Inuit people have always followed strict tradition. The local elders coordinated igloo construction, sent out the hunting parties and choose where to migrate every season, all under the spiritual guidence of the Grand Elder, chosen by the Great Spirit itself. That's how it always has been and that's how it always should be.

But times are changing. Tribes from the south are telling tales of a land not white but green, not cold but warm. They say food springs from the ground on command, and that the people there are as happy as they are numerous.

Now the young folks are talking about change, talking about permanent settlements, about recording our history, about expanding our hunting grounds to the south. Bah! They know nothing of tradition, of how to keep a people together...these ideas must die a quick death or it will be our way of life that perishes.

The plague is over but what a gift from Allah it was! Our pirate armada profited greatly from the foolish infidels, thinking they could escape the ravages of the plague by sea...we killed them in multitudes, taking their Christian gold for ourselves!

But once the tide of refugees subsided we needed somewhere to go. We were tired of sailing and had enough gold to furnish a palace! But could we go back to our homelands? No our greedy kings would tax our hardearned gold! That is when I decided I would become a king myself!

Where would my kingdom be? Why I could pick anywhere in Europe! After much deliberation, the captains and I came to a decision. We would beach our ships on the coast of Italy and live in the Pope's palace itself! It would be the coup de grace against Christendom...

Disheartening news from the West has reached us. The Empire of Christendom is in chaos, countless souls have perished and those that have survived the monsterous plague are harried by brigands, heathens and heretics.

Truly God's wrath is awesome to behold. For this catastrophy obviously is a judgement against the heresy of the Trinity. We, the Monophysites are Noah, the only ones worthy to survive, and just like Noah, we are tasked with bringing the world through a storm. We must carry the Faith through this storm at any cost.

It will not be easy though. The infidels press us from all sides, waiting for a chance to strike. But we must persevere, even conquer them, spread the Faith to their peoples. And then? Then we must do everything we can to help our fallen brothers from the West, to show them the true path to salvation!

This LP will be mostly text with some screenshots. This being EU3, I won't be attempting to communicate every in-game event that occurs as that would be boring. Rather I will be providing an overview of our nation's history, telling a story as it were. It will also be character driven, with the ingame leader serving as the principal character, supplemented by characters created by you. Want to hear a story about the colonization effort? Create an adventurous sea captain! Our military expansion? Create a lieutenant! Or more court intrigue? Create an advisor! I'll take as few or as many details as you want to make up!

EDIT: Inuit is the winner! Now about characters, as I said I'll take any details you want to give, but as a general rule I need at least these things:

1) A name that is at least somewhat cool/fitting (ie: not Raurisaurus1999)
2) Some sort of profession or background so I can work them into the universe

Personality traits are good too, but I can fill in the blanks if necessary. Really I just need the two basic things. Lastly if you want to influenece how your character develops after they get a story go right ahead, that's what will make this interesting!

I say we pick Inuit, unite the tribes of America and colonize Europe.

I can image Europe getting colonized pretty quickly before the Inuit will be able to make it over the sea. Rum seems kinda neat, but it could be slow going in the beginning.

Inuit is the most interesting of the three, I'd say. It's an interesting idea, an American exploration mission finding a post-apocalyptic, ruined Europe.

Inuit. I suggest some awesome pan-american empire (from the frozen north all the way to the cape in the south) before looking over the oceans at Asia or Europe.
