Not entirely sure which school it was.  It was one of those "self defense only" classes.  I'm not entirely sure whether the guy was yanking our chain or not though.  He had us be blindfolded, and try to block other students.
Yeah, that worked out about as well as you can expect blindfolding six-eight year olds and telling others to hit them.

One other thing I also remember is the teacher taking time to show us how many one-handed push-ups he could do with his feet elevated three feet above his ass.
Every time we had class.

Capoeira is the coolest martial art ever.

The snarky response

Strategy to beat a capoeira fighter:
1) Wait for them to get tired
2) Hit them

The polite, well reasoned response

Sure. If coolness factor is a motivation, the capoeira's a great choice. I've never taken it myself, but if you want to  show off "cool moves" then 2-3 months of capoeira is probably better than ten years of karate, for example.

I think you guys should just learn the philosophy behind ninjitsu and learn a lot more effective martial art like Krav Maga.

I would have to say being bitten by a radioactive spider is pretty high up there.

I dunno, other than an itch and maybe a very small tumor it would probably not achieve anything.

If you wanna do it the easy way, yeah.
But that's for pussies.  Real men bite the radioactive spider.  And people wonder why there are less macho men around.

Between the works of Darwin and the fallout series, I think we can all agree that being a wimp is most often beneficial to ones longevity. As such, I proclaim the 100m sprint to be the best martial art.

I'd say Krav Maga. It's a "win at all costs" style, specifically designed for actual real-world fighting instead of just exercise, even incorporating stuff that works from other martial arts. It's meant for finishing the fight as quickly as possible, going for vulnerable areas like the eyes, punching the neck, kick to the groin, anything that'll disable the other guy and leave him vulnerable.

If you've played Splinter Cell: Conviction, Krav Maga is what Sam fights with, especially with using the enviroment to help (slamming enemies into walls, using objects as weapons, and so on).

Centration. Similar to Spacestation 13, but in 3D and first-person. Sounds damn awesome.

Ninjitsu, I believe, for both the animated series and the recent set of movies.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Yeah, stupidity doesn't reproduce.  So, in theory we've been getting wimpier since the first man.

Bars are by far the most common place people get in fights, so is there any martial art that focuses on use of beer bottles and billiard balls?
