Let's be honest.
Who forgot H.P. Lovecraft?

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

So, coming up next, Rothfuss again with The Wise Man's Fear. Just short of 1000 pages, and I've got about seven days in which to complete it before heading off to the land of study. It will probably be the most I've read in so short a period of time if I'm successful.

Another week another b-wait...how long...what...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

Spoiler: 8/40 (click to show/hide)

I'm playing Dear Esther next.

Book 43 - Forward the Foundation, Isaac Asimov.
I'm kind of glad to have the series behind me. The first few books were much better.

I'm partway finished a few other books as well. I'm not sure if I'll manage to get all 52 in the next few weeks, especially since I'm also trying to finish writing my NaNoWriMo novel, plus, you know, Starbound exists. But I'll do my best.

Finished book #35, I, Robot by Isaac Asimov.
Awesome book. Reminded me of these fellows:

Finished book #36, The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman.
Loved it.
5/5

edit: I just finished Hyperbole and a Half. I'm not familiar with graphic novels so I'm not really sure if this is one (and thus does not count towards 52) or not. If a book is 1/3 text and 2/3 comic/pictures is it a book or a graphic novel?

My challenge continues! Having now met my extended goal of 75 books (with a current total of 79 at the time of this posting) and the end of the semester coming soon to give me more free time I've decided to see if I can take this push all of the way up to 100 books! Now I might not make it, but I'm not going to let that get me down. Only 21 more books to go and 16 days to do it in!

Two more go down, only 19 more to go!

Book 44 - Heretics of Dune, Frank Herbert

It took ages to get through this one, but I enjoyed it. I did read it once before, years ago, but I didn't remember almost any of it.

Now to locate some quick reads to try to pad out my count by the end of the month/year!

Aaaand Book 45 - The Magician's Newphew, C.S. Lewis

It seems these Narnia books only take a couple of hours to read, so I'll probably go through all of them in the next few days to try to catch up a bit. Leaving the religious background aside, they're nice fantasy books, and the tone of them is helpful in writing my own book.

Make that 46 - The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, C.S. Lewis

2 books in one day? Praise the blessing that is quality children's literature!

47: The Horse and His Boy, C.S. Lewis

Chugging right along! I'll win after all, at this rate! Only 5 to go, and still 4 Narnia books left!

16 to go, 10 days. Hopefully I should be able to get a few books done today while I'm traveling for several hours.

I'M NOT DEAD YET

I'm pretty sure I can finish.  STILL reading Wuthering Heights.  Fortunately I get Christmas off this year and I have a lot of short books sitting around that I've been meaning to read >_>

48: The Ocean At the End of the Lane - Neil Gaiman

I didn't expect to read this all in one day. It was profoundly disturbing in a very distinctly Neil Gaiman way. Very different from his other stuff, but no doubt that it's one of his. Glad I read it. Now I need to read something less upsetting before I go to bed.

49: Fortunately, the Milk - Neil Gaiman

Very short, hardly counts as a book, but it is one, so there! Cute story with nice illustrations. I like his more "adult" books better, but he's a wonderful children's author as well.
