Workshop on fire

I've got 6 workshops burning thanks to dragon's visit. They was made from wood logs. When do they burn out completely? or I should think about pumping water on them?

most things burn out eventually, but it takes quite a while. If it's off in the corner somewhere out of the way you might as well let it burn out.

If it's in the middle of the fort, or it does not stop burning after a year or so, you might want to consider dumping water on it.

Don't bother waiting and start making those pumps. Some things don't stop burning for years to come and it's unknown if they ever do. Even flooding your entire fortress then pumping the water out will take you less time than waiting for every small thing to burn out. Not to mention all that time you risk dwarves dying from heat if they get any stupid ideas.
