Yeah, the 3rd stratum midboss is really the first "real" boss, although narmer gets close, what with his constant full party attacks.

EDIT: Also just got Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey and I gotta say I'm enjoying it. More plot (this can go either way, but SMT plots tend to be pretty good), less difficulty from the dungeon itself and more from the monsters, (I've heard tell that monsters will put your entire party to sleep and then start spamming death attacks, which cannot miss while you're asleep! Fun.) so no hidden passages or anything like that (at least that I've seen yet). The automapping is fantastic too. Definitely worth a shot if you're not a huge fan of grinding in EO, as the demon fusion feature will basically level up your demons for you. Your main character still has to level, but at any given moment 3 of your dudes will be demons, sooooo.

I should really stop trying to grind for all the demon sources and start actually doing the game. I'm pretty sure at level 78 I can sweep the rest of the game.. but.... demon sources.... need all the Fiends.... gotta have riders... I saw the Trumpeter once I ought to kill him too... oh man Surt has Agidyne better get his source...

Long story short: I'm easily distracted and need all sources.

Well I made it to floor 3 with my farmers still die all the time good thing my money is so high

Fing hard die all the time
skills are
1 is maxing rotten egg
1 is going strange seed
1 going to market, safe stroll and going to get rain or shine
2 going slap awake with 1 going camp mastery and the other earth bounty.

I don't think I'll be able to kill Narmer at all unless I get a high lvl

Huh, strange seeds looks pretty great actually, but yeah I think it'll be a task no matter what. Might actually get practical use out of that retire function.

Why should you even be concerned about leveling? Earth's Bounty stacks.

My main issue right now:

You have been ambushed!
Big Snakehead used Torpedo!
The front and back row switched positions!

I'm starting to suspect that they have programmed Big Snakeheads to have like triple the normal ambush chance.

If big snakeheads are what I think they are I do seem to recall getting ambushed by them more often then most, so that may well be the case.

Made it to the third sector of SMT strange journey, and I've gotta say, I really like the area design. Definitely living up to EO's reputation so far. And as always the plot is pretty well done, so that's a plus.

I feel like it's been less difficult then EO overall, but that's not really a bad thing some days.

One puzzle in EO3 just majorly trolled me. The statue puzzle in the Abyssal Shrine. I'm sitting around for 15 minutes, trying to figure out the solution methodically, identifying winning states to transform the situation into...

...only to discover that to dispose of all statues, you simply have to push every button. Argh!

Heeheehee, it seems like a lot of puzzles in EO are like that, at least ones not based on layout.

So, I've been slowly working through EO1 for the past couple years with my trusty LDSAM team.

I'm on floor 17 and apparently just hit some kind of cap for memos. I didn't know there was a cap for memos. Aargh.

I've been using them to mark one-way doors for the whole game, since simply walling off one side doesn't appear on the zoomed out map. But then this floor has SO MANY one-way doors...

I sure hope the limit is per floor and not per game, or else...

Wishing to purchase EO2... well, yeah, right. The current price levels go from ridiculous to extortionate. I'll have to wait for the re-print. Does any of that trickle down to Europe as well?
