Yeah, you seem to lack efficient TP damage (zodiacs are great but kind've heavy on the TP), arbalists are okay at it, monks can be good at it but most people go with healing.

It'd work but it's important to remember as you progress through the game that you will probably need to make more dudes then your original five, so don't be afraid to do that every now and then. Making a team of farmers to take advantage of the gathering spots is highly reccomended too.
I have a zodiac in a old run but I want to try a combo this run once I hit sub class again going to make a Gladiator that uses Tagen Battou for insane dmg and the Ninja going to become a Ninja/Shogun for 2 sword instant death. well Shogun/Ninja

Oh wait not me oh well

Haha, yeah referring to sirius, edited. :p

I've unfortunately never quite gotten to the extra class unlocks in EO3 but it seems like shogun in general has a lot of potential just with it's dual wielding.

Gah. Well, I guess it would be unreasonable for me to put a perfect team together on my first EO game :P

Yeah, like Alkhemia said, there's no way to make a "perfect team" in an EO game, you'll have to switch guys out. It's a good way to break a "everybody has to be the same level" addiction, I know it broke mine. :P

Played the first 2 on my DS, can't say I cared for them too much.

Was there anything inparticular you had an issue with? Mostly curious, and it's possible EO3 fixed it, they tend to make good changes over time. Although given you last played EO2, maaaybe not.  :P

and that were you get all your dmg late game
also try a shogun/monk with no weapon and missing one armor slot works with fist that way

Yeah, there's a reason most skills have both + damage and a status effect. If something ONLY does damage it's usually pretty good even into the late game, like nine smashes (even if it's horribly inaccurate).

Defender isn't even that essential when you have Immunize. This is how broken that skill is.
I like to be prepared for everything.

Also a full farming team as a main team is hard I'm on a new game + so I still have all my other stuff and party but I'm not using them atm

The original game -was- really bad with multiple activations, you ninjas. Used to the awesome Line Guard in EO3, I specced my Paladin into Front Guard at first... which can only guard against one attack. Ugh. Does Mikiri also only guard against one attack?
If you put three points into Front Guard and three points into Rear Guard you unlock Defender. That buff will raise your entire party's defense and along with Medic's Immunize both are skills that I've heard are essential when dealing with FOEs and bosses. I made it a priority for my Protector to get Defender for that reason.

...I get a lot of my information from GameFAQs mind you. A guide I read recommended it and it has worked well for me. A guide also recommended Provoke in combination with Parry, which while I haven't tried yet sounds like a good combination.

My EO1 party, in fact, runs on P/Defender, M/Immunize and H/Exhaust. Absolute defense. I've not even met anything that can inflict double-digit damage to me while all buffs are up (at least on the physical side)
And I'd seriously recommend you stay away from Provoke. It just has never seemed to work for me (pre-EO3). The two best Paladin skills are Defender and Smite, followed by the Anti-Elements (essential, but situational), you don't really need any of the personal defense skills. (But you'll have decent levels in Fortify from speccing into Smite.) I've beaten the game, I think I know a bit about it.

And yes, Immunize is broken. But you'll have huge problems against any elemental AoE without it, and both the third and fourth stratum boss utilize those. You could try to compensate with Anti-Elements but that's a guessing game (leaving your Paladin fully unable to do, well, anything else), or you spec into the Bard's elemental resistance stuff, which is bloody expensive for how little it's going to give to you. Still, you should probably play without Immunize, it's a tad broken. (I maxed it, but didn't realize until postgame that it actually reduces physical damage too, not only elemental. So I didn't abuse it 'till no tomorrow.)

--
Ah, the full farmer party. ^^' I've never approached that, but plan to do so for one New Game Plus. Your defense game isn't going to be all that bad (Rotten Egg lol), but how do you plan to kill things? SHO subclasses for Warrior's Might? (Endure + Persistence, lol)

So I managed to find some stat growth charts for EO3 on another forum, I'll post them here and get them somewhere in the OP later.

Spoiler: they're pretty big (click to show/hide)

Phalanx is hoplite, and andro is yggdroid, but those are the only japanese names that aren't very obvious.
