Yeah, and the elemental weapon buffs have unlimited duration in EO1 iirc. At least it was that way with the oils. Learn to abuse Flame/Shock/Freeze Oil if you don't have Alchemists, it's going to save your hide! Especially because, unlike in EO3, the attack gets fully converted to the target element and doesn't just get added on. (Well... I believe so, anyway...)
So, really, triple Landsknecht front row, two specced in Double Hit, one does the chasers. First turn everyone drops Hell Cry, your back row oils 'em up. Second turn... you're going to town. Assuming your front row has survived. This party comp has obvious survivability problems. To maximize damage you should probably equip the 2-hitters with axes.
Did I tell you how good Hell Cry is, already? It's around +70~90% attack buff when maxed, I'd wager. Even if it just was around 50% it still would be too good to pass up.
I believe every boss
save for maybe the last, and that one probably doesn't have many resistances either
has some sort of elemental weakness, and even if they don't, you're not really worse off for damage. The real problem might be having to drop all of your skill points into chasers for that one Landsknecht.

The original game -was- really bad with multiple activations, you ninjas. Used to the awesome Line Guard in EO3, I specced my Paladin into Front Guard at first... which can only guard against one attack. Ugh. Does Mikiri also only guard against one attack?
